The Mind Games topic seemed to be a big hit on the main Melee board, but I was curious what kind of mind games Pikachu is capable of. Somewhere down the line, I saw PictishFreak mention something about a wavedash backwards followed by a quick F-smash. I started using that and holy crap it works wonders! Especially against a C-Stick-F-smashing-happy Falco. Hard to believe something as simple as that can be so effective, but it certainly has improved my game.

That may not be the best example of a mind game, but it does exactly what a mind game is supposed to do - manuever your opponent to where he is the most vulnerable, and then be quick to take advantage.

Does anybody have any consistent tricks they pull using Pikachu?

thats pretty basic what he mentioned. dont get too attached pikas wd is kinda short and wont evade a lot of attacks. its more like a combo than a mindgame.

You need to think more like that... KNOW when you can and can't do things. but enough of that mindgames have been way over-discussed.

To elaborate on good moves to use with mindgames (as you asked), pikas big draws are thunder, dash attack and bair. these can work wonders but you need to really have your opponent thinking the way you want him to.
