Mushroom Kingdom II. Bowser can play absolutely fine here. I can't think of a better defensive stage. If you want a Pro-Bowser stage, there is none better. The middle platform can be played a little like "King of the rock" (as can the other platforms) - by that I mean you can just hang onto the ledge (under 100% and knock off your opponent by hurling yourself back onto the stage. You'll more likely than not get control of this middle platform, and if you position yourself smack bang in the middle, you can essentially sheild grab any of your opponent's approaches from the air, as they have no other viable approaches (unless they spam crap from the upper platforms). If they camp or spam from a distance, sweetspot the upper ledges (either by Fortressing or air-dodging right into it), attack with your 'get-up' roll (not the swipe over 100%), wavedash back onto the stage and repeat. If they learn (they will learn), they'll be rearing to block your attack, so jump up then land on them with the klaw or <insert other good strat here>. The great defense comes from being able to fortress yourself out of the upper platforms, down to the lower platform, where you'll instantly get yourself out of danger, and back onto a more commanding position. Overall, it's an excellent place to exercise defense and coutner-offensive tactics, and also to tear apart any pace your opponent originally had. Thanks to Luke for making me remember a pro stage exists, heh.
Any other good stages - people are welcome to share.

green greens is my general counter stage (cept for fox/falco, they do too good there)
practically no edges, low ceiling, and fire-activated bomb detonation means it's too easy for bowser to rack up kills. also, his ledge attack covers both side platforms and half the main platform, so what's not to like?
also, luke can tell you what i showed him in brinstar (rising acid)

Any stage with long sides and a high ceiling are excellent stages for Bowser. Bowser dies pretty easily upwards, so you want a high ceiling, and he can recover excellently from the sides. The thing that is really strange about this game is the system they use to judge KOs. There is basically the "killzone" area to the sides and the top that once any part of the character touches it, it is registered as a KO. The whole character doesn't have the pass it, just a single part of the character has to touch it. Meaning, if one of Bowser's spikes on his back, or any other hittable hitbox touches the "killzone"... ... "RAURGH!" Bowser gets KOed. Smaller characters like Fox have a little further ways to travel until they reach the "killzone" due to their smaller size. Always remember to DI towards the corners of any stage (longest distance to reach the "killzone")
3 stages I can think of that I would tilt the odds more in Bowser's favour are:
1. Kirby's Dreamland 64
2. Final Destination
3. Battlefield
Speaking of stages, how the hell did the developers forget to add Bowser's Castle as a stage? It is used as a stage or level in pretty much every Mario game. I just don't understand how it was not included...

They have to add Bowser's Castle in the next game. It would add the perfect touch to the new SSBR game.
