Roy Combos.......Please?

I really would like some combos for Roy. I've been playing as my main character but I don't know any combos. He seems to be a really good character. Help!!!!! :(

Dude. Roy sucks. But go to the Roy FAQ to find combos for him. Also, you make the majority of combos up on the spot.

He sucks compared to the characters you will most likely see in a tourney.
Basically when your smashing with your buddies Roy is fine. In a tourney you won't get far with him. Not usually anyway. Just use Marth if you like swordsman. Deja vu eh Quiksilver326? lol

wow. duh, im dumb. he's right, sorta. he's EXTREMELY close to being even with other characters. i cant remember where i read this but: the best marth player and the best Roy player in the world have faced off, and the Roy won. its all about the player, mainly. i have two friends who faced off, and have 51-49 % equal skill, 51 being a pichu, 49 being a sheik (serious), and pichu won, but barely.

The problem with Roy is that his kill moves aren't as effective as they need to be, so thusly you have to work a lot harder for your kills than Marth, Falcon, Falco, etc and so on would have to. His ability to rack up damage; however, is quite good. Still, it's an uphill battle against almost all of the top/upper tiered characters (floaty chars are a ***** too, although I find Jiggs is an even matchup). He isn't really all that bad against fox though, still not a great matchup. Generally though, his bad matchups aren't horribly bad either, so it isn't impossible, but when you get to tournaments that slightly bad matchup can and will spell defeat. Unless you have other chars to back up Roy you can only make it so far.

Please stop spreading stuff that you aren't sure about, and no that isn't true. The best Marth (Ken) fought the best Roy (NEO) in a best 2 out of 3 Roy ditto and a Marth ditto. NEO's Roy beat Ken's Roy 2 out of the 3 matches and Ken's Marth beat NEO's Marth 2 out of the 3 matches. The end result was as people expected, Ken has the best Marth and NEO has the best Roy.

I don't know about NEO going Roy against Ken's Marth, but I haven't heard about it. NEO loves his Roy, but he knows that Marth is a superior character. He told me that he won $300 with his Roy, in total tournament winnings, but has already won MUCH MUCH more with Marth and he just recently made the switch in the past year. In other words, it isn't the player, it's the character. NEO's Roy still pwns, but it has nothing on NEO's Marth.

BTW guys, my Roy is back and better than ever. I will be using him + a ton of other characters and I will counterpick for optimum results.

and IMO my roy is better than my marth but my marth will win match ups that roy gets countered in like IC's and Peach

roy is good but I wouldn't try him against falco or falcon and fox with platforms and yeah marht is better but roy seems to do ok against him cause it's just a mindgames test and marths advantages are harder to exploit on a solid roy player

Ok quicksilver here are some quick and very easy Roy combos so you don't have to look them up.

Try this one out on some different types of characters.

Sffl'd Fair > Grab > Down throw > Fsmash

Try this too. Just change the Fair to a Nair

Sffl'd Nair > Grab > Down throw > Fsmash

Try this on a Fox.

Down tilt > Grab > Chained Upthrows.

There you go, some basic easy Roy combos, the best combos are the ones you come up with by your self though.
