Doc Vs. Samus

I absolutely hate samus. Maybe it's because I've gotten myself into a sort of mind frame to where my game just gets completely thrown off when anotherp layer picks Samus, I don't know,b ut I ca'nt seem to do anything against the b1tch.


What can Doc do against Samus? I know at the very least her projectiles shouldn't be TOO big of a problem... because Doc has his cape. -.- I should just stop leaping into them. But yeah, anyone got any ideas?

Well I dont use doc but i do use Mario. Like you said the cape is a must. Projectiles are null and when samus grabs the world with hook you can fall down cape her and jump up B back to edge most of the time. You might wanna play around to know how far mario can go first... dont wanna go to far down =P.

Well I think I can help you out some. I main as samus and second as Doc and one thing I've learned is that samus isn't the best in the air so try your best to do some juggling. If you need ideas as to how to juggle then i suggest downloading Bob Money's OVERDOSE. His video has helped me out alot with Doc and I've picked up alot of tricks watching the vids. So if you need help that's what i suggest.

Yeah I've watched Overdose so many times I can't count them... :X I really need to wokr on SHFFLing the U-airs... I have a feeling that will help immensely.. though just running up to samus with one of those seems like a rather bad idea.. I just need to practice I guess and experiment to see what works.

CF was said to be a Samus counter because he was all over Samus all the time.

Do that with Doc and you can win.

hmm... I've always said that doc is like a short, fat, slow captain falcon... 'cept doc has projectiles and a cape! So i just gotta stay allupons.... i see...

If the samus doesn't sweetspot the edge with her up B then make sure to cape it

Yea its real hard to get under here because of those fugly bombs but Uairs and Nairs work for me

yeah, that's why I hate samus. I can't get close to her. I always get careless and jump into charge shots or missiles x.x;; and those stupid bombs are forking annoying.

Oh and I know what your saying about getting into that mind frame about a certain character. Everytime someone picks Marth I swear I go into choke mode and give the match away (normally at the end).

Another thing I do with Samus is run directly at her with the full intent of using the cape. Its a little bit of a mind game but if I reflect a projectile back at her the first time then the second time I'll SH to f-air or maybe dash attack to u-tilt. Just always be ready to use the cape and that will take away her main advantage.

Against a Samus, I would say use aerial attacks frequently, don't forget to use your cape, and practice side-dodging. I do this often against someone who uses Samus and it works for me. Probably its because timing is crucial. An advice I can give you is recognize how Samus attacks. Meaning, when Samus uses the Missile, for example, remember how she does it and expect it and use a counter attack(Cape). Hope this Helps!

Some of my friends aren't too bright, but when I play against them and they are Samus I make sure to cape right after I am knocked away or in the possible path of a chargedshot or missile. Sometimes (now this is probably a bad idea but it works against my subpar friends) I will short hop in front of samus and cape, tricking them into using their shot they have charged up. Its funny to do but definately shouldnt be tried against anyone who is decent, you are pretty vulnerable to the grappling beam doing this. I have never had too much trouble against Samus, but I don't know too many good Samus players.

yeah i have trouble against samus with my doc. I cant get my airs to work because every time i get bombed. I also like to short hop and fair people when they dont expect it but i cant seem to get it to work with my friends samus because he sees me coming and fires a missle that blasts me aways from him. I think keeping samus on the ground is the most effective way to give her damage, it seems to work for me. On the other hand useing throws is also good if you can get into a combo fast to prevent the bombs from screwing you up.

try to stop samus' morph bombs when she tries to recover. pill the bombs, or cape 'em and that should kill her.

Try to guard against samus' D-smash and try avoiding ccing it as well....... if u do that is.

If you're going to go out and cape her bombs, it would be easier to just bair her out of the level. You'd be surprised how far you can go if you jump -> bair -> djump back to stage -> optional third jump.

Samus players love to spam the down-tilt and d-smash a lot... Be sure to avoid CCing Samus and shoot pills while she's crouching. As soon as she reaches 80% and up, you can strike her out of CC and go for the kill
