Smash Rumble in Southfield, MI location

I know alot of people that have been asking to play some SSBM players for a long time. so I and one of my friends that works at GameStop have decided to host a smash fest every once in a while. Trust me, there are alot of great Melee players in there and I promise it'll be worth it.


So if you live within the vicinity, don't be afraid to show up.
Ness and I don't plan on losing either.

Also, since my fest will be down for a while, check out Nova5883s smashfests instead.

There is no prize. The purpose of this is just to play and have fun. That way there's no stress on anyone and that way everyone can play. I guess, the prize would be that you're the best in southfield, but that's given anyways.

Honestly, the money thing might change after like the first couple of tournaments. This is just a practice run, but I'm hoping it'll be successful. And if there's a bigger crowd, we might end up changing the place.

Man, today's matches were too sweet. I'm just mad that I couldn't stay for the one-on-one matches.

yeah, those were some good matches yesterday, and i got some good practice in. It seems my Pichu was below par. I had a really hard time L-cancelling with him, probably from playing as fox too much. That's to be expected, since I haven't been really playing with him recently. Looks like he needs to go through his usual rigorous training again.

As far as individual matches

Tony - your CF was pretty fast. That was a good match for my Pichu. I got you pretty good on that 2nd life, but you came back and shut me down real quick to even the score up. Always boils down to the last man. I'll give you a rematch, if you want it, cuz he'll be even better next time.

lumnati???- can't remember your name that good. Your fox ran my falco. I was just being too **** aggressive and running in. I couldn't even SHFF right. i want rematches against anyone i lost to, so be ready the next time i come through.

Johnston - **** man, my roy almost had your shiek in the tournament, i just kept missing that crucial blow. That was my best roy, but i guess it couldn't overcome the lightning speed of sheik's attacks and your skill. And your Peach. You know i want a rematch on that one. if i were to get a good off day, i WILL come all the way to Saginaw to get it, if need be. I'll put my princess, that is, Zelda(not shiek), to work on that ***.

Brian - I didn't get the chance to fight against your SH-double-swiping Mewtwo. I wanted to get my Pichu against him. I've never seen Mewtwo played like that before. It was like art. I wont' forget that your Marth pwnownd my roy, bad. Next time, the young Hero of Time is gonna show him how to use a sword right.. and a boomerang, an arrow and the almighty propeller kick. All in all, both you and Johnston were a tad better than me, but that's nothing a little training can't cure. Don't know if I'll get the chance to play you guys anytime soon (1hr 40mins is a lllloooonnnnggg *** way), but i'm definitely looking forward to it.

Okay, this smashfest at the Sfld location has been going on for awhile now and it's getting good. Alot of good people have shown up, and the matches are always intense. However, it would be even better if more michiganians on the forums could show up and play a couple rounds. It's not cool just playing the same old people.

Also, for those who are unaware of this, there is a Nintendo authorized SSBM tournament that is being held at the Gamestop on Southfield Rd. i'm thinking about entering it, and I was hoping to at least get a good challenge there too. But that won't happen unless someone from here decides to show up. Just a thought.....just a thought.

Man, you guys have problems. How is it that the only reason you come to tournys is to make some money? whatever happened to the spirit of the gamer? That's really sad.

Anywho, since school has started up for alot of people, I've decided that the wednesday smashfests should be cancelled until further notice. However, this coming Saturday is Labor day weekend, so I would like to see some people at our usual place that day around 3 pm. To save you the trouble, there's no money involved, it's just for fun. I understand if the distance is too great.

Oh, and to report on the Nintendo melee tournament on Saturday. There wasn't alot of good people there. Only me, topichu, and my friend Tony. My Ness shocked the crowd by making it to the finals of the second round, but it was no match for topichu's wavedashing Marth, who took home the gold after beating Dr. Mario. Still, it was cool despite the ten minute matches between people who just suck badly at it.
