Dates to be confirmed Monday or Tuesday latest.
Yeah, so not a whole lot of warning but reckon most school holidays are still ongoing, and I love this game too darn much as per the WNDU television broadcast:
http://www.savefile.com/filehost/projects2.php?fid=2817067&pid=217890&PHPSESSID=3e5d37927656e03cd91b1f09f94ff60b
Kone, LK, and maybe even Jam or Scott are interested too, so I've decided to make it a public smashfest. Who knows, with enough interest may even get a mini-tournament going.
Can do pickups from the train station in Blackpool, but also keep in mind we have a fairly unknown airport here too that flies directly to London Stansted and is actually closer to my house than the train station itself, hehe. I also wouldn't be surprised if a plane ticket were to be cheaper than crummy British rail.
Saturday night I should be able to house anyone. For the Saturday I was even thinking of bringing some to the Syndicate. (#1 night club in England) So bring your fake ID's because although they let underage birds in there, they are a bit sexist when it comes to the blokes.

This sounds great - I'll prolly be getting a lift with Ed and Stu along with possibly Q. So long as I can get train tickets I'm all set =D I'll be looking into them today.
Basically whats going to happen is Q and Jam will come to Newcastle on the thursday or friday. Then we will go to dougs for the weekend. So thats four of us coming Doug ^_^.

Could you give me an email address of the organizer of the SSBM tournaments and why would you have to bring 2 gamecubes to the tournament, wouldn't bringing 2 GC pads, memory card and the game be enough or even bringing one GC perhaps.
Anyway could you give me more info about the tournament and the location, i heard it was in Blackpool, so i'd have to travel from manchester.
Silver Link :
Tournament matches in ssbm are played 1 v 1. Hence for a smashfest majority of the time people practice 1 v 1 . Therefore more than one tv and cube is needed. Especially since so far thers going to be atleast 7 people going to this smshfest. Using one cube and TV means everything runs much slower and less playtime per person. Of course unless doubles or fun free for alls are being played. Everyone usually brings their own controller.
This isn't a tournament its just a smashfest. Though as Doug pointed out in his first post if enough turn up there'll be a mini tourney.
If you want to chat about this or anything else ssbm related you can catch me on : ceddon@hotmail.com . Doug himself can post up his msn for you ^_^

Ok, anyway you know that link that is Doug's post about a tournament is that what this is or is that something else all together and if so could you tell me about that.
There's also a big problem I just realised, how the f*** am I supposed to bring A TV, I mean I can bring one of my Cubes, some pads, games and memroy cards, but a TV, how???
Keep in mind I have to take a train from manchester to wherever this is.
Silver: Dont worry about TV. He just needs one and sum one else will supply ;) . Yes this will be a mini tourney/smashfest.

Jam - Hope you're not learning Climbers just to counter Sheik, heeh. When is that EC/WC vid coming out? That game just about sums up my money match with Chu Dat also. Although it wasn't just mindgames because I nearly beat his Young Link in the Lower Tier tourney.
Scott - Long time, no see. Don't even remember when I was in Rugby last!
Silver Link - My email is dougwilliams80@hotmail.com, or you can reach me on MSN: (should now be displayed under my Wario avatar) crimson69@earthlink.net. I've been to two tournaments in the US recently. TG6 last year in August, and FC3 just earlier this month in mid-July. Those tournaments are huge in comparison to what we have in the UK or even Europe, although RoS2 was a fairly decent size, 50 or 60 attending? Also as Kone said this'll likely just be a smashfest without a tournament; I don't expect and don't want more than 10 people to attend, hehe. Don't worry about bringing a TV. If you can bring a cube and accessories that'd be cool - don't want to end up being short.

Silver Link - You only need to bring a controller for yourself, everyone else should know by now that it's BYOC! (Bring your own controller)
It's nice to see some new blood coming into the UK smash scene :D
I hope we manage to make this. I'll be in newcastle with Kone, so if we drive over, I'll see everyone there!

How could do you think you are at SSBM, and what other games do you play on the GC, is anyone here good at Mario Kart Double Dash or Soul Calibur 2 or any other games.

I'm in London.

The only game I own on my cube is smash, heheh. Fairly sure Kone and some others play some competitive Naruto though.
ant-d: Blackpool is about 250 miles north-northwest of London.

Still haven't confirmed the date. Will try and get it by tomorrow. Also likely only to house people on Saturday night.
I usually game on my pc; console stuff has been fairly disappointing the past few years. Used to own NES, SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, Playstation but they are well dusty and in the attic now, nowhere to be found. Forgot I have Resident Evil Zero on GC as I got it free when buying the GC, hehe.

If there's enough space at the venue, I think I could make this, the train is a slog, but maybe I could blag my dear mother's car ;D
Jam, after all that "stick with falco" talk and now you switched to IC's......... O___________O

Hi Jazzy Geoff - Just to clarify, it's not a venue mate. Will be held at my house. If this is a problem I don't blame you because it is for lots of ppl. Not willing to shell out the 300+ quid just to rent a hall for a day. Unless of course 40+ people show which isn't happening, hehe.
IC are very good chars. Chu is the real expert with em but there are quite a few other US players who use them well - Trail and Jx3v3 come to mind.
Also looking like Saturday night, August 6th, is the only day I can house... to be confirmed still!
That night is the only night most people need doug X_X . Plus the 6th of august is the only day the six of us can come, saying as the guys are already planning to come down to mine the 4th and stay till the 8th >_<.
Jazzy you should def try make it ^_^ come along to blackpool pleasure beach aswell!!! sunay ^^.
edit: a venue would never be 300 for a day >_>'

Ok, I just need to see how to get back from Stansted at crazy hours now, the flight is cheap enough to Blackpool and back, I hope the shuttle train to and from London is running in the hours I need, tried looking on the Stansted website but it looks like it's down right now....>_> If anyone knows if it's running before 5:30 am and after 11 pm that'd be great.
