Luigi, most hated character in smash?

Personally i love Luigi. But it seems that people hate losing to Luigi more than any other character. Is it the randomness of Luigi that people feel like they are getting screwed out of a win? Or the goofyness of him that rubs it in when you opppnent loses. Also, many smashers who used Luigi as their mains have discarded him aside and moved on to other characters. Even the mighty Joshu rejects Luigi. What has caused all this hate?

Maybe it's the fact that he's a goofy char. But like Emblem Pride said, nobody likes to lose against anyone.

I went a tournament once and was talking to a fellow luigi player. He asked me why I play as luigi and I told him I like to use luigi because he has a great wave dash, quick attacks, isnt too light, and has decent jumping ability, as well as the fact I love to use luigi in almost every game he is in. I then asked him why he like luigi and he then told me, "Luigi has to be the most annoying character in the, and plus man, HE COMES IN PINK!"
I laughed after he told me that but I guess that is your answer. People probably find luigi annoying sometimes as I find sheik fox, falco and other tier 1 characters to be annoying. Of course, people seem to hate luigi a lot more after I beat them with him :laugh:

I love the fact that Luigi can be too fast to hit and too slow to combo. Efficient wavedashing and shorthops make luigi comparable to fox, and while luigi can't juggle an oppoent the way fox can, he makes up for it by being incredibly hard to juggle himself.

One of the funnest things to do is go from a high jump, landing into a perfect wavedash, to shooting across the screen. It takes him 3 seconds to go up and down, but only 1 second to cross the stage. Doing the reverse yields the same feeling. It's a great mindgame to spend plenty of time both floating in the air and wavedashing around.

I think luigi is to slippery for me. I can never preform a move right with. I stopped playing with him from day 1. Some people may like him but he is just to weird for me.

Also, Luigi acts a little crazy in this game. Him and Pichu you want to be good with but you just don't get what your hoping for with them. They are not bad char's from what I have heard. But still hated. A new guide may boost his popularity.

luigi is a horrible character, deal with it, no one places well with him in 1v1s since Kamaal (aka Rockman) and that was like 2 or 3 years ago

I just don't think people like losing to him because of his attitude. I know whenever I win with Luigi people seem to get pissed.

lol, its just that Luigi doesnt get any respect. My bros wouldnt play against me anymore because I used Luigi. Hes a goofy character alright. Busting out pink Luigi and winning ticks people off more imo.

i think i hate more loosing to bowser then loosing to luigi... like OMG BOWSER !!! geez i was playing samus on a small stage vs bowser and i got so pissed because i couldn't place any move cause bowser was taking al the place with his chain throw and his ****ing heavyness...

Luigi is a cool character but i use him more in FFA especially because green rocket is so sweet... my friend and I always laugh of seeing some1 beted by a misfire

To me, Luigi seems like a random character to use. I only use him to make people angry, because people just hate him for no reason. Even newbs who have played the game hate him after I use him. I guess most people have some sort of innate hatred for Luigi.

Luigi is the greatest...If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be able to pull off the stuff I can do with other characters now...

Over here, one Luigi player has inspired many others to play with him and has inspired me to not only use the same tatics that Luigi has, but to bring me back into playing as the green plumber back from the old Smash Bros. days...

people don't like losing to luigi because he is seen as a beginner character or a comic relief character. Losing to him make them feel like a newb or a joke.

i like luigi in the first SSB but they made his move all wrong. the tweak his up B the was the worst move but i like him because of his goofyness hes a fum character overall.

1)dodge
2)3rd most killer attacks at 100%
3)quickness and power
4)Wavedash game unique to himself
5)insane combo ability
6)Great trade(ganon is better)
