Ok so who willl be crowned Lord OF The Game. Ok so the corny name aside, the Blue Phoenixes are going to hold a tournament in California.

Rules : MLG Rules with some added things added. There will be no pools of any kind just go straight into brackets. There will be a winners bracket and a losers bracket, if u win all your matches in the winners bracket you are guaranteed 2nd. Stages may be different from MLG, but i have not yet decided wat other stages may be included in random or banned. Be respectful, no yelling,drinking,doing drugs or doing any other stupid ****. Put all your garbage in trash cans(i see u break any rules and u will automatically be kicked out and no refund will be given.) I have to buy 3 large pizzas, so i will sell it at 1.50 a slice to pay for the pizza.


Cost : Singles:10$ :Teams:10$ per team LTT: 5$ and there mite be a crew thing if enough ppl request it. Maybe NorCal vs DBR. I been thinking and since i got a way cheaper place the cost of teams and singles will be going down to 10$.

Money : The Prize Money will be paid rite after the places are determined.To rent the place so I will be taking the money needed to pay for rent. The rest is for the winnings.(Looking For a cheaper Place Will let u guys know if i find one)

More Info : This tournament is the first of many I hope to see come. It will be a one day so time will be carefully managed. Teams will be first from (you get a 15 minute late time for teams, i will not allow anyone to register after 11:45, if you really think you cant manage then give me a call on my cell and tell me how late we are talkin) 11:45am-1:00pm. Then Singles From 1:10pm-3:00pm. And Finally LTT from 3:10pm-4:30pm. The rest of the time will either be freeplay or crew tournament till 5:00(Clean up time).

Tournament Format :
People will be seperated by Crew, Relatives, Region and so on and so forth

Tourney Format:
Teams: Double-elimination tournament
Singles: Double Elimination
All matches are best of 3. 4th place on up best of 5
3 stock, 7 minute limit (Peach Ditto/Samus Ditto take forever)
Items OFF
Stages limited to the 6 neutral stages for random, others open for counterpicks.
Neutral stages: Final Destination, Battlefield, Yoshi's Story,Pokemon Stadium, Kirby 64 and Corneria

Couter Pick stages:Fountain of Dreams, Mute City,Poke Floats,Princess Peach's Castle,N64 Kongo Jungle, Brinstar,Rainbow Cruise,Yoshi's Island and Green Greens

Stages banned: Icicle Mountain, Flat Zone, Hyrule Temple, Fourside, Brinstar Depths, Termina,Yoshi's Island 64, Mushroom Kingdom 2,Mushroom Kingdom,
Onett,Big Blue,Jungle Japes,Kongo Jungle and Venom

Each person/team can knock out one stage out of all the neutral and counter picking stages. If both persons playing agree on a banned stage it may be used.
Advanced Slob Picks - Loser may choose stage, Winner may change character, Loser may change character, if winner choose not to change the loser may still change.
Double Blind pick may be called at any time, get ahold of a blue phoenix not playing
Ties broken by lives/percentages
Team Attack ON
Life Stealing Allowed

Other Rules & Special Issues

-- Controller mods of ANY kind (short-hop mod, L-trigger mod, etc), except for cosmetic changes (paint job, different colored plastic), are banned. If you are caught using a banned controller you will be disqualified from the tournament.

-- Turbo or programmed buttons of any kind are banned. You may use third party controllers or pads that have these features, but if you are suspected of using the banned features you will not be allowed to use that controller any longer.

--Glitches used to stop your opponent from controlling their character or indefinitely freezing them (Mewtwo's Soul Stunner, the Ice Climber freeze glitch), or any glitch or trick that freezes the match or makes it in any way unfinishable are banned. Using them will result in the immediate forfeit of the match.

-- Tactics such as Peach's Wallbombing and Jiggly's Rising Pound are allowed as methods of recovery or to manuever around the stage. Using them (or any similar tactics) to excessively stall a match, such as droping below levels intentionally and stalling underneath, is banned. Judges will be on the tournament floor can be called in at any time to enforce this rule during a match.


Out of State Travel Info : We currently have 2 airports that are only an hour away from the location. The Oakland Airport and the S.F Airport. Now as far as housing I can not guarentee anyone in NorCal for housing(it is at there own discretion).But there are over 4 hotels in the Antioch are with reasonable rates. My suggestion is work out housing before hand.

This is a BYOC(Bring Your Own Controller) event but we do need help with TVs and Cubes(that inculdes a game).

We can take any one of the dates, but preferrably the 26th for Sheridan.
But the problem is transportation...

If we drive there from Daly City - San Francisco to Antioch, it will take 1 hour and 10 minutes or so WITHOUT traffic.

Or we can take bart from Daly City to Antioch -- I do not know how long the ride is, but the problem is the tournament is 11 miles away from bart.
If we get a ride from the bart station to the tournament, it would be a different story.

SO the 22nd/26th would be great, lets see what other people put and I could adjust. :)

Out of those dates, the 22nd is the best chance for me to make the tournament because I normally get Mondays off, but even then, my chances of going are up in the air because of work-related reasons and I might not get the day off to go.

OK, I now know for a fact that the only day I have a shot at making this is the 26th, and then I'd say it's about....a 70% chance.

Don't wanna have the whole tourney based around my schedule or anything, just thought it would be prudent to let you know since you gotta pick the date soon. If I find out 100% one way or the other before the date is set I'll post to let you know what's up.

If you have it on the 22, you risk leaving out those who can't make it because of school. I mean, I'm not in school yet, but I know the possible people I'd be taking are going to be already immersed in school. Plus, we're driving 3 hours there, and who knows how long it will last.

I'd rather have it on the 20th, to allow for the maximum amount of people to attend, and that gives you all day to run singles, teams, crew, whatever.

ok first off srry that i havent updated anything but i was in the middle of no where with no internet for a week. As of rite now the things that im sure of are the following.

The Date will be August 20th and maybe even 21st if i can get them to let me do it for free(long shot).

The hotel i was going to do this at had called my cell while i was gone to tell me they cannot give me the room on either of the days. But i have a few other places in reserve so hopefully that doesnt affect this in any way.

ok for the past few days been doing a bunch of ****, all of which is pointless except the calling of venues. After many attemps(13 i think) i could find **** for the 20th. BUT i did find a place for cheap(real cheap) but they dont have weekends. So wat this means is that this will most likely happen either the 23rd, 24th, or 26th. Now i have to call asap in the mourning to see which one fits best. Btw check the front page for updates every day.
