Hey, I'm new on smashboards, but I've been on gfaqs and on dc++ for a while, and I'm looking for some smashers, skypal is near me, or so I hear, but I have yet to play with them, so if any of you read this could we maybe get together sometime and smash?

It should be relatively soon, I'm gonna go to Univerity of Hawaii Aug 14, so I dont have a ton of time, but I WOULD like to get in some competitive play before I leave.

Well I mean it depends, I'd like to find a happy medium with the person and find like a meeting place in the middle.

Best case scenario, some kind of tournament happens during the first 2 weeks of august, I would absolutely LOVE that to happen.

I'd be willing to drive about an hour probably, maybe a bit more if I could get some of my friends and somebody else got a bunch of their friends, maybe a little crew battle, though my 'unofficial' crew isn't very good...

I'm the best one and I've never been to a tourney! lol

well, if you'd be willing to travel all the way odwn to newar portland, i could provide housing for like a day or two, so some other oregon people could smash it with you guys.

I know that sounds pretty unreasonable, but oregon is worth it.

When you reach a certain level, and your friends cant touch you, of course youre the best, BUT only of those you have played. Finding other groups to play will let you know just how good you are.

I know exactly how you feel though, I haven't found much in my area as far as people looking to improve; certainly no one on smashboards. Anyways, a tourney is the best way to get better quick. I went over there and played with the Bellevue people and a couple Oregon people (just Jesse and James maybe?). Anyways, I'm definitely better just from getting my butt whipped on by a few of them.

If there is anyone in the Central WA to East WA area, I'm willing to play them. (I"m stuck in Spokane, hell for competition in ALL games except DDR)

Hey, I'm new to smashboards (actually one of Gimpy's friends). He's the one who told me about smashboards. I live about 5 minutes from him, and I would love to get some good competition. I play 64 mostly, but I'm decent at melee as well.

But at smash 64 I've never seen anyone better than him (minus isai, of course) challenge him if you will, but the man is real, REAL good.

I've never seen anyone land more up+Bs with Luigi than Gimpyfish. 90% hit rate. It's freaking rediculous! And the thing is he sucks with everyone else on 64, but for some reason he is awesome with Luigi.

Hmm, I use to play 64 with kirby, dont really play with it now. Just cant do as much dodges and stuff with 64. So yea, I play more of melee but I can play 64 too I guess.

Ok, i'm having a tough time getting this thing running so would anyone mind me moving this tourney back about 2-3 weeks? I'll make another topic called "washington tournament" in the tourney section of the site, as well as link to it here when the details are known.

Its just to hard to get a tourney up and running in such a small amount of time... ya know what I mean? lol

I can't unless its in Aug, and I think its before then... actually me and my bro are driving to disneyland leaving the 1st and i might stop and play with aftermath on the way down and on the way back, so maybe some people can get together then?

But yeah, maybe the first weekend of august (i think its the 6th) i'll try to arrange some kind of tournament or something...

i think it should be $5 or $10 for singles and $10 for teams. Low tier should be only a few bucks. Crew battles can take place, but not for money most likely. Other than that. make it like overnight or something, so the people coming from oregon don't have to come, lose money, and then leave to make it back in one day.
