Any tips?

When I do it, it's like I dash for a fraction of a sec back, push down to cancel the dash animation, then just do fsmash. Is that how you are supposed to do it?

If not, please help, and how the hell do you pivot the ftilt? Thnx.

To pivot cancel (talking in TT's vid?)

You dashdance, then when you are on the STANDING animation, you do a tilt or a smash.

yea, that thing Tipman does.

You're doing the pivot wrong.

When you're in your Dash Dance animation you have to sort of "center" the stick by giving it somewhat of a "flick" (or any other method you conjure up, whatever you find easiest). When done properly, you're characeter will cancel his dash into a standing animation. From there you do your preferred attack (but do it quickly). It is very difficult to perform, there is a reason why noone uses it. It takes an obscene amount of practice just to get down the technique and even more to get it consistantly -- you have to be very dedicated. I've been pivoting for a while and my success rate is at about 75% now (waaay better than Tipman's, his pivoting skillz suxzorz). Focus on smashes with the c-stick first, they're easiest. Tilts are impossible to explain, I don't even know exactly how to do them, I just do them outta practice.

Me and Tip will have some match vids up in the next few days showing how garbage his pivoting skillz really are, and how unofficially "l33t" I really am.

When you do it does it make a weird boing kind of sound on the second tap? or do you only tap it once and then centre it? I'm able to do it consistantly but I'm wondering if I'm doing it a way different than anyone else.

For marth, there are some certain %'s and DIs that a fthrow+fsmash cant be comboed with WD but can with pivot...Is it really worth learning? PEople tell me no but it looks so cool!

asking for help on pivoting is like asking for SHing help. once you get the concept it comes down to practicing. as you dash dance left and right there is one frame where your char is standing still and from there you can do tilts and smashes. if you wanna pivot tilts well id suggest try pivoting up angled ftilts, for some reason they are a little bit easier to get consistantly. just learn to tilt the stick when trying to execute a tilt and not just smash it.

LMFAO, yeah my pivoting sucks i got lucky when i put it on that vid. also the c-stick advice is more of a preference, i pivot everything with the A button (except dsmashes [which i never do] and fsmashes in the same direction of the dash) so experiment with your options and see what feels more comfortable for you.

This isn't true. I've tested this with most applicabke characters (floaties) and they can always DI out of range. Maybe if you could do the pivot inhumanely quick, but I doubt it.

its works, the only char i can manage to pull this on is peach and around 20%.

I always thought of it as "tap A 1/10th a second after I tap the stick to change to the direction I wanna smash"...paraphrasing my inner monologue here...

It seems to work most of the time for me...

No it DOESN'T. Try it on someone who actually DI's and techs before you go around telling people this works. And don't tell me Alfred DI's Marth's foward throw because he DOESN'T (unless he started DI'ing like, yersterday). It may work once in a blue moon because of the games' sometimes unpredictable physics engine, but 9/10 you can tech or DI away from it.

syn i already told you yesterday that it works. if you dont wanna believe it then dont but dont be like "No it DOESN'T" and then be like "It may work once in a blue moon" cause that just proof that your not sure about it yourself. next time you stop by ill show you how sexy that follow up can be.

on a side note fro DIs often now cause ive been getting cheap on him with marth. you'll see next time you play him.

Yeah, so me and Tip tested the F. Throw to pivot F. Smash techinique today and....

It doesn't work. It can always be DI'd. Of course people don't always DI, so at high percentages you may be able to catch them with it, though getting a tipper is a but tough. Not something I'd rely on though.
