OK so NorCal is dead silent most the time and we are always looking for other people to host stuff so I'm gonna step it up and try to host some biweeklies.
I got this nice little job right, it pays decently and I usually piss my money away so I figure I'd use the money to rent out a place so NorCal can get together and smash.
I'd charge a $5 entrance fee for unlimited smashing and this would probably be all day.
I'm gonna start looking for places to rent out tomorrow cause its like 11:45 right now.
What I REALLY want to know is: IF I CAN HOST THESE BIWEEKLIES WILL PEOPLE COME TO THEM???? Roseville is about 20 minutes away from Sacramento (hell not even that), and well it wouldn't do me any good if people didn't come. So if you're pretty sure you can come every 2 weeks for some smash then please post up. I want to see how many people are interested.

I'm interested. I'd have to know a week at least in advance of the date so I could get it off wizzork.

I have family in the area, so I like the idea. However, I wouldn't want you to put your money every two weeks into getting a venue. If you were going to do that, I'd perfer saving it up, renting out a large venue, and have a large-scale tournament.

Too far for me, yo.
And even if I do go, I gotta pay five dollars for something I can normally do for free? Doesn't make sense to me.

The 18th sounds good to me, as I don't have to work on Mondays and Tuesdays. Just let me know where and what time, and I'll try to get a ride.

Transportation's an issue for me (northeast of Sacramento? Yeah...). Hmm...*looks at people's locations* Scamp lives in Berkeley (Bart ride away from me) and apparently can find people there. Maybe I should investigate this further....

Well this is some positive feed back.
I've called some places up and left messages, hopefully they will get back to me. If this comes out to be too expensive I will just host a tourney instead.
Keep your fingers crossed people.
Oh and if I do throw a tourney would you help out Scamp? I'll give you a cookie.

I just had a great idea. When we decide to hold biweeklies we could throw everyone for a loop by being correct and not calling them biweeklies, but calling them what they actually are: semi-weeklies (or bimonthlies if we want)
Eat THAT socal.....lol^_^

Hmm, well it looks like MLG Vegas/EVO 2005 is coming up and Kev and I really want to go to that so I'm going to that in August and well I gotta save up some money so now biweeklies for now.
I was looking at the prices to rent out places down here and they're pretty expensive. I'm considering hosting a tourney instead.
I like what Bob said though, he could host biweeklies sometime at his house to lighten the load on me. Would anyone else be able to do this? This way all of NorCal supports each other. We could switch off hosting smashfest every 2 weeks. That'd keep NorCal busy and very active.
Oh yeah I got a car now and I get my license later this month, so I'll be travelling alot more now.

I'd be really interested in some "semi-weeklies"... as long as they are close to a BART. I have no car... please say bart is nearby.
poly u live in fremont srry man there r no barts that take u to sac sucks for me to cuz i live near san francisco and i got no car. I would love to play with dbr tho
