Aerial Smashes or Smash cancels?

I suppose this could be done with any charater, but since Luigi has the best wavedash, I decided to post here.

Has anyone ever tried Wavesmashing off of a cliff? What would happen if you went off of the cliff while in the middle of the smash? Would the smash cancel out into the basic falling position or would the smash preform while you're on the air? Either way, it could be useful...

Oh I haven't tried this myself yet, I don't have access to a cube at the moment. :(

It is impossible to fall off the cliff in the middle of a smash. You just go to the edge of the stage and do your smash. You don't cancel the smash or smash while in mid air.

What if you smash with Luigi in the middle of a wavedash would you still be sliding forward or will you stop and smash. (Not off a cliff) I was assuming the first was true so I also assumed that you could smash off of a cliff. I should stop assuming things. :rolleyes: :p

If you smash while in the middle of a wavedash you'll continue to slide during the smash, very noticable with Luigi since his wavedash is so long. Its called wavesmashing and it works quite well with luigi, just don't do it too much or it'll get predictable of course.
