you can sing above the ledge, and if they fall asleep u grab the ledge to cancel all lag and quickly rest while they're still asleep...

but if you can pull that off, then sorry i wasted ur time captain jack:)

Sing Cancel is a great move when used at the right times.

If you grab the ledge and your opponent is running towards you, immediatly sing cancel, chances are you will hit them and then you can either jump back on the stage for a fsmash or you can try to rest them.

For some reason i miss the rest on a lot of occasions when i do it from the ledge after a sing cancel, maybe its just me though.

Sing cancelling is also like a taunt, i ujse it like one ... try and lure your opponent towards the edge and then jump up with a fair or something like that.

I only use it if it's a team battle, and even then hardly ever.

I find it best to team with Falco since he can easily wake you from sing or rest with a lazer shot. In that case, it's actually useful to sing sometimes.

Yes the move is kinda slow... I like Mewtwo's disable better. But it doesnt work on small characters like Pichu.

Sing = Taunt #2

..... alternatively

Sing = "Oh crap, I hit U+B instead of F+B *dies*

If you use Sing when somebody is next to you, it's pointless because they'll wake up in time to attack before you're fully done. It only keeps the opposition asleep long enough if they walk into the attack range in the middle of the attack. Since nobody would be stupid enough to give an opponent a good chance to deal damage, I don't use it.

Actually, sing keeps them asleep for a longer period of time when they have more damage. But at the damage that they have to get to for them to wake up after you, you should be going for the sleep instead.

I agree that Disable is better because it's easier to make good use of.

i think sing is better than disable b/c it goes in all diresctions and ur opponet doesnt have to be facing u...but i dont use either so....

Uses for Sing:

Unlike most posters here, I use Sing quite often in 1v1... Ok, so "often" is an exaggeration, I still use it at least once per 3 life match...

Condition is that Opponent is at the point when 1 fsmash will kill them... so for the average character around 90%... and you're at the point where additional damage really doesn't matter too much... around 90% as well...

Now, if your opponent is not Mewtwo, Samus, Marth, or Roy (long range/killer projectiles)... when you're in close quaters or predict that your opponent is about to advance on you whether by dashing, wavedashing, or dodging fowards... Sing. If you miss, your opponent must retreat and cannot get close enough to kill you, if you get them, start tapping the C-stick towards your opponent's direction and when you stop singing you will instantly smash that way (no delay)... at 90% only the computer can escape... otherwise, they're pretty much dead...

The more damage your opponet has the longer they will sleep if you use your Sing attack. Get them to about 100 Damage and then sing at the edge. They will fall asleep and you will have enough time to kill them with a rest attack. I have done this trick before.

eh but chances you need to get them to 100 damage arent that likely i mean just rest combo

You can use the sing to get to the edge and stuff, and sleep someone who's standing there if they aren't gonna downspike you or some ****, and use it as a sweet finishing move like i do..then break my sheild and fly away....
