The next tournament will be scheduled for sometime during the month of september, so post the weekend that would best work out and we'll see when most people want to have one. I will try to organize rides for those who don't have transportation, but remember the bus is always an acceptable and easy solution, as i live near a bus stop. Here are the rules for the tournament below:
Starting Time: To Be Determined. Teams will be first, followed by 1vs1's (But feel free to come early to warm up)
Stock: 4
Time Limit: 8:00 (Higher stock/percentage wins. Exact ties go to SD)
Format: Best two of three, first stage random or agreed upon, following which slob picks. Double elimination (or pools, sometimes RR... its usually decided after we've found out how many people have shown up).
Stages: 1st stage random, then SLOB picks. Random Stage selection is also set to approx. 6 neutral stages. If you both agree on a stage, you can choose it even if its banned.
Banned stages: Hyrule Temple, Venom, Fourside, Princess Peach's Castle, Mini Hyrule, Corneria, Yoshi's Island 64, Brinstar Depths, Onett, Flatzone, Icicle Mt, basically stages with barriers or walk off edges. All other stages are allowed for counterpick
Entrance fee: To Be Determined
Prize: The entrance fees will be split 60/30/10 or something like that... we usually round up/down to make it easier.
Team Attack: ON
Items: OFF
Additional rules: Double blind character picks if necessary. For slob picks loser has to pick the stage first, then the winner can decide to switch characters, and finally the loser can decide to switch characters.

I will be trying to have small smashfests, or even large ones as much as posible before school starts for me (september7th) so make sure to post when you would be down for one.
Bring as many of your friends as you can, Oregon needs to get some competition going here, and the more people the better.

Try saving the file as a .BuMP and it should work. Also, isn't the 11th the skypal you said you could go too, sort out your dates sir.

yeah, we'll have to see how much oregon wants to start up bi-weeklies, at this point i see very little interest, and the only people who have posted are going up to skypal or are david.
the 11th is when i am planning on doing the first biweekly. However, if only 2-3 people say they want to come, i see very little reason for me not to go up to skypal and simply reschedule the first for the 18th, which may work out better for some.

ok, so skypal is definitely not this weekend, so this weekend will defninitely be the first of hopefully many biweeklies oregon has this summer.
So oregon post if you're going to come and ask for rides, riot, my mom will probably be able to pick you up, as she'll have to pick andrew up since he's too lazy to buy a car.
i'm also considering a low tier tourney for fun, or for like $1 and maybe some other random things friday or sunday if anyone is up for it. there's probably going to be food here, but there is some stuff relatively close.

yeah, i'll call you a bit later in the week, but seeing as how you seem to be just about the only one showing interest, besides newberg, i think my mom could pick you up. This is James on Jesse's account. My mom says she can't pick you guys up because she's out of town, but really, try to get one fo your parents to take you or something, if nothing else, the bus is always there or maybe newberg would want to pick you up.
Also, just a note, anyone who forgets their controller will have to use my special SUPER FORCEFEEDBACK CONTROLLER, although it may have a fan on it too by this weekend.

ok, it looks like their will be like two people coming to this, including me, sweet.
Riot, if you are willing to pay some gas i think justin could be persuaded into picking you up and keith if there's time to go that far out of the way. Aim me (Aftermath rar) your address or post it here if you want picked up though.

ok, so today didn't really happen at all. David no one's picking up your phone, so i'll try again tomorrow, but if you still would like to come over tomorrow (sunday) my friend jesse can get you a free ride. Yeah, it's most likely going to be a casual thing, but we can record some matches on my camera and do some teams.

ok, school's out for me, so i was thinking of having something soon on a weekday. Tomorrow will work for a few people, probably just justin and david (assuming they can take the bus again). Yeah, so those people call or something me, so we can set that up.
Anyway, i may be able to have something a bit bigger next tuesday, provided anyone wants to show up this time. other than that, i'm busy on weekends for the next month about, so things will have to be scheduled on weekdays.

yeah, so tuesday is still up for a smashfest if anyone is interested in coming. We could do a $1 tourny if enough people show up or just some casuals if people don't want to pay. Everyone's welcome, and this could possibly be an overnight thing. I don't know about rides, i live semi-near a bus stop so that is the best option for anyone.
We should have enough set ups, but depending on the number of people we may need someone to bring an extra TV/Cube, but we'll see.

...Haven't checked back here in quite a while, nice that the pacific west has its own section now. If any of you are interested, the GameStop in the Clackamas Promenade (ya know, by the Clackamas Town Center and Old Spaghetti Factory and Gart Sports and all that), is hosting a tournament sometime in the next couple of weeks. I forgot the date, but I'll be sure to check it today unless someone takes the initiative and calls them up. That may be a good alternative to one of your bi-weeklies, or a good place to snag up some others to join you.

Um, I'd like to go as long as there's nothing inappropriate and the entrance fee isn't above 30$. Not sure about the tournament lingo, but maybe if and when I got there someone could walk me through it. Um... please tell me when the soonest one is and what time I should be there, and any other knowledge that is vital to the tournament please.
this weekend from the 7/2-7/5 i will be up around the lake shasta area, any of you oregon ppl live near the border like 3 hrs away. I know cap lives like 6 and thats just a bit to far for me. yeah, just got back from california, sorry about not being able to talk on the phone mangoman, but i can talk now. Yeah, i'm planning on having a bi-weekly this weekend or next and then trying to stay more on schedule than i have been.
Entrance fee will most likely be $5-$10 depending on what people want, there will be both teams and singles tournaments, double elimination (so you have to lose twice to be knocked out). I'll have to post later about times and such

Yup, I know I asked this on the phone but... what's a slob? Can anyone tell me, or, like, post where they got the rules from?
(For a misc. don't need to know side note, I feel so nervous! I mean, I have 0 idea how good I am compared to any of you. Probably a lot worse, but maybe a bit better... oh well. :) )

i hope that explains it, but slob is just he way a person counter-stages. Usually people aren't too worried about it, but sometimes you need to be all official and stuff.

I definitely want to go to one of these! Are there gonna be any tournaments early august!? I'm hoping for one somewhere in the 3rd through the 9th or so...

lately we havent been having them 'cause nobody have been talking about coming. i bet if more people would like to come, James (Cap'n Crunch) would hold one soon.
i bet i would have to help clean his room though...

Update the first post, update the title of the thread and put the date in. Me and tyler WILL be there probably with the rest of CMO. Lets get Oregon smash going again. It seems like theres a decent amount of people up on smashboards and that want to get good at smash, so lets make this sh|t happen.

Ok, all the information is updated now. Gimpy, the reason why i can't hold it in the first few days of August is because i need to have it on a weekend, so that way my mom doesn't get too pissed when she loses sleep from a bunch of smashers being up all night.
As posted up there though, if things go well, another tournament would be very possible August 6th and 7th.
