Falco disjointed hitbox?

While playing smash the other day I was charging Falco's D smash and Link swung a D tilt at me, trying to cut me off at the knees. The attack went right through my legs and I put a foot into his shins.

How did the D tilt not hit me?

Falco's legs are completely invincible during his dsmash

For the first 6 frames (the attack starts hitting on frame 6).

This includes when it's charging.

Hrm..interesting. It's like I've always known this, but like never had it put into words or thought about his legs being invincible.

Meh, I don't really use dsmash that often though anyway...

Yeah, I've mentioned this in another thread around here a long time ago. It's quite effective as it evades most down attacks, one of the most important is Peach's down smash. It has pretty limited use though, but it's nice to an extent.
