The "Samus' Dash Attack Is Awesome!" Thread

Seriously this attack is underrated IMO. It isone of the few attacks that can lead up to a combo on almost every character everytime!:D

Dash attack can lead to:

- U+A, F+A

-U+A, Power Missile (missile doesn't always combo but keeps opponent on his/hers' toes)

-Charge Shot

-Sex Kick

-ABA

-And in VERY rare cases ADA.

In many cases I treat it like a normal attack by running a really short distance just to hit my opponent because it always leads up to something good!!!

Its a good move and all...but it's still a dash attack. And peach's dash attack is what all other dash attacks aspire to be. ANd as zitanix said...easy shield grab...VERY easy shield grab. Rather than setting up your opponents for combos...you may be setting yourself up instead.

I'm not quite certain what the hell you're talking about that it combos well, it won't combo at all unless they're very low % and or they DI toward you. Remember that just cause a combo works on a lvl 9 computer doesn't mean it'll work on people.

Oh, and HugS, ellipsis does not equal comma. =P

MLRS stop ASSuming things. I don't play the computer for comp nor do I abuse the dash attack. All I was saying is that it has a decent stun rate even for the risk factor.

I find it useful to use in situations where I'm 99% certain it'll connect like when my opponent does an evasive roll manuveur. Oh and you say it hits away? Well it depends, many times it hits them up at a 65-80 degree angle perfect for setups into different attacks.

I'm not just assuming you use these combos on lvl 9 computers, I know. Most of those combos you listed only work if they DI toward you, the computer will DI toward you for every single hit always.
2+2=You use these combos on lvl 9 computers, or someone who gets hit an awful lot while dashing.

it is one of the few moves that is quick and can take out a projectile and people beyond (similar to ftilt). It is really useful in following up on a MC because she leaps forward before striking, it helps to keep ahead of the missle. Against most characters, following up a MC with a dash attack, meaning striking with the dash attack first, cancels out the opponents move and leaving them open for the closely trailing missle, good stuff against marth.

I hate dash attacking people at low %, they don't go anywhere and they always nair me. It seems to let them combo me more than the other way around.

Everyone knows Samus has one of the better dash attacks, but as with any dash attack it's not to be spammed.

Exactly I never supported spamming it.:o And yes her dash attack does deserve a thread because it might enlighten people on the many different offensive oppurtunities Samus might have that are underused. Like how I never used to throw with Samus but now I do because I saw N-kawa use it so effectively!!!:crazy:

I'd just like to state that the usefullness of her dash seems drastically increased when you have wavedash reflexes.

Uhh...not exactly sure what you mean by that Phil...

I'm guessing your saying that if your good with Samus's wavedash then it makes her dash attack better?...or maybe by saying "wavedash reflexes" your referring to fast reflexes or something like that.

Er, if you wavedash theres even less reason to dash attack. WD F-tilt is faster in almost every way, and it won't get you shield grabbed.

Why Bother making a thread on Samus's Dash attack its a good move tru but d*mn How many times will u use it? (3 to 4 times)
Only a n00b would spam a move like that (its easy to get past to and leaves u open if avoided.
