Okay, I am wondering if a good Mewtwo player (like me) can beat up a very good Ness player in a 1 stock battle on FD. A dude I know from MSN says that Mewtwo is weaker than Ness and he would destroy me with ease. He lives in the same country as I (the Netherlands) and when he has his birthday he will invite me to MUWAHAHAHHA DESTROY him in a battle. :demon: BUT; what are good strategies agains Ness? Because I am even gonna think that I even gonna lose to a dude who's then 2 year (and some days/weeks) younger than me!
(I am just a n00b so I don't understand terms like ''Power Shielding'' and WD tilt or something...)

Mewtwo CAN beat Ness...but not if the Ness player has any idea of what to do...

How can you forget the Transitive Mewtwo property? Or even the Quadadic Formula of Mewtwo? Did you even pass Algebra!?!?!?

M^2S = 5
OS = 5

M^2+O=M^2S<OS.

where as S = stock; M^2 = Mewtwo; and O = Opponent. any opponent!

Poor Mewtwo...

but really, I dont think Mewtwo really counters anyone at all. not from my standpoint. and alot of people seem to counter him. =/

Mewtwo doesn't specifically counter anyone (except Bowser, but he sux anyway) but he CAN beat Ness. If you want to surivive Ness, for the love of god, just don't try to fight him in the air. If, for whatever reason, you do end up in a situation where you have to meet him in the air use your N-air attack and hope for the best. If can u, try shield grabing him and throwing him out of the arena, and then try to mess up his lousy recovery.

Ness isn't that hard...I guess.

Just spam Shadowball as much as possible while avoiding his attacks...

Build up damage and then use an Upthrow.

Ness is fairly slow and has fairly bad range...if you can just run away and do hit and run attacks you should be able to get him 100%+ and then kill him by SGing.

That's if you want to be annoying...

Mewtwo is the only person that I can beat my friend Robert's Ness with. He was once the best player in our crew, but he sorta stopped playing. Tis truely sad >_<.

I would always play a pretty grounded game against him, and kept a lookout for some good grab oppertunities and I would make sure that they counted. Just your basic stuff like downthrow > down tilts > up tilt/f tilt/fair deal. I usually KO him with the back or up throw, depending on location. It's also fairly easy for M2 to intercept Ness's PK Lighting (not sure if that is it's name or not). I usually will run out to spike him, bair him, and/or take the hit. Make sure to time it right, or else you might just get anihilated by his amazingly powerful firefox wannabe attack.

Watch out for Ness's aerials, they are all quite good. Most notably his kill moves, up and back air. His fair is equally bad for M2, because of it's good range and damage. It also seems to plow through anything M2 can dish out aerially as well. I haven't encountered it, but I am sure if they DJC the fair instantly (it is equivalent to being able to use any of Ness's aerials on the ground) it comes out really fast and sorta catapults him forward a bit. I can see that being a REAL *****. I don't think many Ness players do that, and if they are good and from what Mow posted you prolly won't do *too* well with Mewtwo against them more than likely.

Neutral air is your friend, and although this isn't Ness specific, it is fairly easy to catch your opponent in often. Fair is very powerful, but I wouldn't use it unless it was comboed or you *know* it will hit. I am pretty sure that it also combos/chains on Ness well at low percent. Bair has good range, but Ness's fair will plow right through it. Uair is good, and I would think juggling would be viable, but watch out for Ness's spike, it is pretty powerful. Still, I stress that you should stay low to the ground more often than not, because fair can take out all of M2's aerials.

Ness also has an awesome run down game. I remember Robert always anihilating whenever I made a mistake, and I never could get away. Ness's dash attack can be pretty rough on many a character, although I don't remember how well it worked on M2. It's been too long since I have played Robert, and the last time I had the chance he refused to after watching me destroy some of the locals with my M2.

I know for a fact that Robert (or pwnzone to the boards) plays Ness differently than most so it might not be completely applicable in some aspects. It has also been a while back, and my M2 has progressed a bit since my last match with him. I am sure Mow or someone else will begin to rip this post to pieces, but this is just my two cents on this matchup.

just PK Wave Mewtwo across the arena. Seriously, if a good Ness loses to any mewtwo, he should just quit. Only char that beats him as bad as Ness is Marth....and then it's REAL close.
