short hop blaster towards him. alot. keep him at bay, and when he's the right distance, quickly do a short hop spike, shine, spike, shine, etc....
once u get him with a spike or shine....PUNISH HIM!

i try to shine spike him(which im really able to do well btw), but the problem is that he always DI's right after my shine because he sees it coming. what im looking for is a way to make my shine spike's less predictable

Instead of shine, short hop or jump normally into a spike, but don't do shine, instead, l cancel into a down A sweep attack then.... crap I forgot what's next....., I think you either shine him and do your thing or you up smash him as he is in the air. It works on my friends and they have trouble countering it so it might be of some use

i just spam SHL as i approch him then i SHL as i retrete. its a good mind game and when your ready to switch it up dair to shine/tilts is a good option.

SHL spam and mind games. Dash dance works well too. Just keep mixing up your stuff, keep him at bay and on his toes.

SHL, get in with a spike n insted of a predictable Shine, go for an uptilt (but make sure you're not facing him though). Once they give up blocking, jump with an bair. or if they try to escape n roll away, dash in with an attack, n spike from there.

My friend had the opposite problem. Try playing Falco as a Marth-especially one that SHL's. We as Falcos are annoying as can be. Marth has a horrible arial recovery once you pop him up there he's toast. Suggestions for getting him up there are-
-Shine/Waveshine
-ANA has pretty good priority against Marths sword ..mostly
-Spikes are always beautiful, but please LC them or you will be sorry
-your Illusion also works but don't overuse it.
Good Luck!

Random shffled Moves leading to the egde into spikes work better on a Marth than shine combos. Imo. However, i'm not saying you shouldn't use the shine! ^^"

i shine-dair-repeat my marth friend so easily its a joke- i can start him out at 0% and bring him to the edge and finish with an fsmash- the thing is- he doesn't tech. I don't know how good ure marth friend is, but if he can tech the dairs after they become obvious, then you gotta switch up the dair for some other aerial. Bair and nair are great depending on which edge he is closer too. Uair is good for when u feel that it will star KO him.
Nair is a great weapon as someone mentioned.
Shffl dair behind him ->utilt or shine (I prefer utilt if the marth can tech because then you can jump into a shine ->aerial)
Your greatest challenge will be shooting short lasers since marth crouches downward when he runs. If you can master that, then just stay away from his grabs. A marth that spams uthrow chains and utilt combos can be the death of a falco - especially once falco is off the edge

i've always played falco and i rarley do anything like l-cancel and wavedash. i know how it's just not my style. i've played marths like eduardo and NickB.. i don't know if you guys know who they are but they are both outstanding... i've found that a simple back kick in the air works. get a marth off the the level and jump and back kick them continually and edge hog in the end... they have a hard time with it.

I've been doing more dash attack, it's the fast attack with range that can set up for other attacks that falco needs to fight marth. CC into dash attack works well

Marth is, in my opinion, Falcos worst matchup by a longshot. He too easily combos him out, and can edgeguard him extremely well...not to mention can chain throw him from 0 to around 40 and there is nothing you can do about it.
Your best bet is to try and avoid getting grabbed as uthrow spells trouble. So therefore, SHL approach and retreat alot. But keep in mind, a tipper on Falco at around 60 percent is probably death, so watch out. Try approaching and baiting a fsmash, WD back to avoid the hit or sidestep, then punish with whatever. Use Falcos suprisingly decent crouch canceling, and utilt is often better to follow up your shffl'd dairs than the shine...but still use your shine combos when you can.
L-cancelling is also pivotal so you avoid getting grabbed. Instead of immediately shining after your approaching SH'ed dair, switch it up some by sidestepping right after you land. Follow this up with a jab at high percents as it leads right into fsmash, or at lower pecents utilt/shine.
Even knowing the matchup well (as I think I do) it's still really really difficult match. On certain platfor levels like Yoshi's Story, Falco realistically stands no chance between the plats being perfect for tippers and the really close blast zones on the side.

In reality, starting from 0% with shine n' spike is really hard. Do a spike and do 2 Up Ttils, then spike, THEN go into shine n' spike "el dente" and sex kick/bair him off the ledge. Plus, with up tilts, you can MISS with the first spike, land behind him, and not worry about being punished by sheildgrabs into chain throw mutilation. U tilit is a much better solution at lower percents.. better range and more approporiate knocking.
