Help with Fox....

I play as Mario and the character I have the most trouble with is Fox. My brother plays Fox and I can never beat him. What he does is use his speed really well. He uses Fox's right B and left B attack alot and the only way I know to counter that is to block untill I can get him from behind after he passes me? Also when I am in the air I always get his up smash attack as im landing because he will use his speed and get right below me before i land and do his up smash attack. I just cant beat him with those 2 tactics of his. My question is how do you guys counter some of this stuff? and what tips do u have for me to have success against Fox?... Thanks guys

Because Fox's smash B attack is quite laggy, you could jump over him when you hear it starting up and try to predict where it'll end up. Get there as fast as you can and smash him. Even if you can't get to the end of Fox's illusion, you shouldn't be getting hit by it if you can react fast enough. Just jump.
As for getting u-smashed all the time, try to air dodge when you see he's running under you. If you time it right, you'll recover first and you can grab him or something.

General tips.. well try edge guarding Fox when he's off the stage with a mixture of back aerial and the cape (forward B). The Cape will turn him around when he's using his recovery moves and essentially will kill him. B-air will knock him back out and can give you some easy KOs at low percentages.
In general, try to shield grab any aerial attacks he uses against you (read the stickie in melee discussion if you don't understand that or any other technique I've covered), throw him down and follow up with f-smash or d-smash.

Or I've got a better idea out of a dthrow. Juggle him with usmash until he's too high and use uair then right after that. My friend got really pissed yesterday when I did like a 93% combo with just that against his Fox.

what would really piss him off would be to probably pick a stage like fod, or battle field, and just cape him when he does fox illusion, and he will just fly off the edge, upthrow and utilt work real good against fox too

another tip with mario is when doing down smash hold down first so your CC and when they hit you , dont w8 there holding down though just do it when you think there gonna attack, there attack will hav no affect then its a free d-smash for you :) works like a chram m8
