...yes yes I know...puff has a great recovery and a lot of the time all you have to do is do a couple of puffs to get you over to the edge, or above your opponent or whatever...but what happens when your knocked below the level and your remaining jumps just aren't enough to get you back?

I thought I've seen poeple use puff's forward-b to rise indefinitely, but I can't seem to do it. The most Ive been able to do is stall for a while, but I will eventually fall to my death... I'm tryin to press up right after I do the puff move, but it doesnt seem to work

1. Is it possible to use forward-b to just rise up indefinitely?

2. If so, what do people do, in terms oif timing or whatever tricks to pull this off consistently?

3. If not, what are my options top return (if any) ?

-thanx

To use the rising pound..

First off, this doesn't work indeffinately. It WILL stop giving you height once you run out of jumps. However, it can give you more than enough height to recover from over half way down FD.

Pound and as the move's being executed, hold the stick up then jump and pound again, making sure to push the stick up as before. Keep doing this till you've got the height needed or you run out of jumps. You can air dodge upwards aswell to gain a little more height and some invinciblity.

Not sure if you're just having problems vs edge guarders when you're coming from below or if you need some advice when you're already level with the stage aswell.

what i do after upuffing from below the stage is sweetspot the edge, followed by a ledgehop. after that just lcancel the fair ledgehop, and then start the WoP

Is only the first upound that gives you height for each jump? Like one jump= 1 upound, any more pounds don't give you height? I'm trying it, it works, but I keep doing Sing on accident. XD Auto-suicide. :p If you need practice doing upounds, try the reverse long Hyrule Jump, if you heard of it?

Airdodge down (if above the stage) and then fast fall. Unless your opponent is used to it or expects it you will be able to dodge their attack, land, and get your shield up/roll/ground dodge their next move (if it comes).

if i get sent into the air to the sides ill rollout back (ive always called it sniping) and if the opponent is on the very edge aim for the ground in the middle and turn around. ususally they use the up b or an ariel to try and hit me and i catch them when they land. Either that or i sweetspot the edge with a rollout.

hope that helps anybody with that problem

this is what i used to do all the time until i entered my first tournament and good ppl easily sniped me outta the air with a bair or nair

ive been doing that more often. Gotta love sweetspoting a rollout. though i think the ledge grabbing should be swapped as in able to grab after hitting someone instead of before (it only makes sense i think the slow moving post hit would be able to grab easier than a fast moving pre hit)

looking back i guess i worded that weird.

i think that jiggly should be able to grab the ledge after hitting someone with rollout since she is spinning very slowly instead of being able to grab it when it is going fast and not hit someone.

if it needs further clarification
Jiggs shouldnt be able to sweetspot the ledge with a rollout
Jiggs should be able to grab ledge after hitting someone

btw who here thinks jiggs should git her marker as an attk in the next version of smash bros?
