We were playing Mewtwo vs Marth. Marth had a percentage around 100%. Mewtwo sent Marth into recover, just beyond the left-hand ledge of Final Destination. As he was falling, Mewtwo fired a fully charged shadow ball, which Marth countered. He did succesfully counter it -- it made the sound and everything. But as he started to swing, it did the animation of him being hit by a shadowball, and he went flying to his untimely death.

Does anyone know about this, or why this happened? It doesn't seem to happen every time.

Ya, ive seen it plenty of times. It prolly happens cause the shadowball doesn't move in a straight line (as in it swerves around and stuff). Marth's counter attempts to toss the projectile or w/e out and over his shoulder so if the shadowball is moving down at that point, it should be still be able to hit marth.

Told you Mabus.
The shadow ball is to erratic to succesfully PS, Counter, and sometimes even spotdodge.

Thats why its pretty much Mewtwo's ONLY move.

The same thing happens with Samus' charge beam sometimes too. If it stays around long enough it can hit him right after the invincibility frames.

Mewtwo is #1

I too have seen this happen.....it's quite pleasing to see a character try to dodge/counter the move and get screwed over...that's why I love shadow ball's curveyness in it's path...it can be kind of annoying sometimes. (for the enemy)
