I just saw a vid of marth vs. fox, and naturally marth pwned fox all over the place. One thing I noticed (besides massive amounts of dding and shield grabbing) was that marth was using this trick to nair while edge grabbing. It works a lot better than the other edge recovery attacks, but the player does it so fast that it looks like I wouldn't b able to time it. I'm pretty sure the player was pressing down and then immediately jumping afterward into a nair, but can anyone give me tips on the timing for that? It looked hard...

For Marth, although I don't know which vid you watched, but I'm pretty sure he didn't fastfall. What you do is after you've grabbed the ledge, tap back to drop off, X/Y to double jump immediately, and use your nair. Doing it is simple for me, coz' I use Z for my aerial attacks. You could use A I suppose, but you gotta be fast... Use slide input or whatever that's called.

There's not much to say about timing, just that you have to do it fast. Take it easy, once you get the hang of it (which isn't too long), you can do it as easily as wavedashing. When you've got it down, you might want to try the other aerials other than nair, coz' Marth can just about use any of his aerials for ledge jumping back to the stage.

Although this is some what old news, you may not know about it so ill explain.

Once on the edge, press down at the same time you press x/y and the double jump elevate you vertically a very short distance. After this is done you can do any aerial and get back on the stage with one down+x/y on the ledge. This aerial, whether it be fair, nair, or whatever can also be l-canceled. This trick allows many more options on the edge in a defensive postion.

Also down+x/y on the edge can also be wavedashed on to the stage from, also presenting many options. You should get vids of japanese marths, they do this stuff alot.

pressing back would be easier for me. It would put me in a better spot to beat down edge guarders to i believe. better use of the disjointed hitbox. Wd is a good idea, i wonder why the vid didn't show any of that. I guess it was cuz fox was all up in marth's face. But Marth kicked his *** anyway. That was some good soup.

This is Captain Jacks site that has many videos of crazy stuff.
The Marth, Korius, is pretty insane as far as handling edge techniques, but if you want everything, id agree with Rebel, just figure out how to get DC++ working, and watch all the greats...

You could also just make Marth "let go" of the ledge by pressing the c stick down, although sometimes this has failed me and cost me a life... This works better cause it lets you have a better jump back up the stage, and if it goes horribly wrong you'll plumet down doing a dair.

Thanks, its actually not supposed to be visible since in other forums all people see is Kenshin swingin his sword.

BTW I doubt anyone from around here knows this but I'm from Honduras, Central America and I've taken up the idea from this forum to create one (a forum) specifically for the people around here, so we can gather up and make small Smash tourneys and up till now, its pretty good and getting better. Maybe in the future we can put up videos so you can see the way we fight here.

Ontopic:
I found out that you have to tap gently c+down so you don't plummet and practicing it also helps ^_^
