Shffling fair...

I was wondering what exactly is the accepted method. Normally I short hop, wait a bit, fair, immediately ff, l cancel. Lately, though, I've been wondering if short hop, fair (on the rise), wait, ff, lc would be more effective...

Any thoughts/comments?

its all situational. you have to look out though, depending on when you fast fall, the fair might have ended before you land, and you wouldn't even be able to lcancel as the landing would be the same as having jumped doing nothing.

Well I know if I shhf'l a fair with Marth I use the c-stick so I can press down to ff immediately when I can. So I fair whenever I use it. I'm not sure if I use it immediately or I wait a little.

As far as I can tell, I'm ffing at the same time in both ways.. which would be as early as I can.

It's quite simple, ff as early as possible and fair at the last possible moment so you're as close to landing as possible before the opponent can start his retaliation.

It depends on the situation.

If you're trying to keep a combo going, f-air asap.
If you're jumping in on someone, do it as late as possible.

actually.. that's just for roy >_> with marth if u do f-air asap you should probably just do double f-air instead of fastfalling
