Actually by tiers that title falls to Pichu. And remember that just because a char is in low tiers doesn't mean they can't be played well.

I mean I wouldn't use him in a serious tourney but in free play and in low tier tourney's I might.

I think every character can be used very well. even pichu can get the job done. but bowser.....i have no idea what nintendo thought while making him. sure he can beat people but i'm a expert in this game and bowser can barely touch any of my characters. i'm sorry but he's the worse

I don´t he´s the worst... I believe that title goes for M2 but even he becomes good at the right hands ( looks at mow )... though M2 still has too many bad matchups.

Bowser isn't anywhere near as bad as people make him out to be. It just takes some time to get a feel for him. He's a lot quicker than anyone thinks. The main thing you have to keep in mind is that you have to have very good mind games with him. If you watch a video of me for instance, you won't be impressed at all. But once you play me, you understand the beauty of the character. When I go to tournaments, I always get to a certain point, and then lose to the same people over and over. I always win until it's like the best of Chicago, Michigan, the Ship of Fools from Indiana, and like Vidjo from Ohio.
At MLG Chicago before I knew what an Lcancel or Wavedash were (I still think WD with bowser is dumb though), I went 5-1 in the round robin, only losing to Isai's captain falcon and drew a ONE seed. I ended up taking 17th out of fifty after I lost to Isai again in the brackets and Eduardo's marth.
At FC, I drew a 3 seed, and ended up losing to a jigglypuff - as I SHOULD since jiggs is the best bowser counter out there - and a peach, who I lost to by a hit in Final Destination, 3 stocked in Mushroom Kingdom 2 (it's my favorite and best bowser level), and then lost in Mute City after I was ahead 2 lives to 1. Peach's downsmash sucks though, since usually it hits with 34% up to 64% on Bowser, so all it took was my opponent to come in while invisible on his last life while the stage was hovering high up in the air, downsmash twice, and kill me. Bowser can't block Peach's downsmash by the way. No ledge kills Bowser.
And at SMYM3 this last month, I drew a 3 seed again - I lost to Eduardo and Darkrain, and then beat a sheik and a luigi... there were only five people in the brackets. Then I beat another sheik in the tournament and had to fight Kish Squared's Fox, who eventually went on to win the entire tournament. We fought in Poke Floats, and we both were down to one hit on our last life, and I was jumping from magnemite to magnemite and for some reason held down and fell through it. No excuses though. Then I beat him in Mushroom Kingdom 2, then we both were at one hit again in Mute City - his counterpick, before he killed me. Then I beat Snex's Jiggly in rainbow cruise and lost the next two.

The point is that there are only a few characters that Bowser really is afraid of - Jiggly, Ganon, Falcon, Sheik, Fox, and Falco.

Jiggly destroys him in every aspect because you can't shield grab her and if you miss with a fortress you get rested. And Bowser is an aerial character and jiggs is the best aerial character.

Ganon's Lcancels are too fast for Bowsers in general, so he's just tough because he hits harder than you do. Most definitely beatable. The only Ganon I've ever lost to is Eddie's, and I can beat it like 1/8 times... but admittedly he's on another level than most people in the world.

Sheik is a decent matchup if she doesn't chain grab. I don't lose to sheiks unless they chain grab me but it's mostly a mind game and that's why.

Falcon and Fox are just too fast for Bowser, but they pose no great threats really either. You can get LOTS of damage on them if you land a Klaw because if they don't DI it you can infinite combo them because they are fast fallers. Plus with Fox you beat him in the air, and because the fortress is so fast, if you get a fox player off his game even a little bit, your fortress will beat out the shine combo. A fox player will only have priority over you after an aerial if he fast falls it, if he doesn't, then your fortress will win. You will be swapping 6% damage for 13%, and that is how you want to be playing Bowser anyway.

Falco's laser and spike aerial are just too much in most cases. Though you can EASILY edgeguard falco and fox with the Ftilt, it's too hard to combat Falcos Down Aerial, and if someone knows how to shorthop laser towards you, forcing you to block, then you are in big trouble.

Marth really isn't that bad because you can get big hits on him that send him far and then you can edgeguard him pretty easily too. It's the people like Eddie, Ken, JV, and those guys who are really good with him that I have trouble with, everyone is beatable.


But when I play someone for the first time that isn't a big name like Eddie, Ken, JV, or someone like that, I have no problem with them. Maybe it's just nobody knows how to fight against a Bowser, or maybe it's me. I went over to CunningKitsune's house one day to play, and I destroyed him nine times in a row - his fox by the way. He didn't know what to do. Then I told him HOW to fight me... HOW to fight Bowser's in general, and I beat once more out of ten times.

Bowser has many moves that don't necessarily flow into one another like sheik's do, but most of his moves give you a VERY GOOD hint as to what YOUR OPPONENT WILL DO NEXT. When I fight someone who has never fought me before in a tournament, I know 30 seconds into the fight if I'm going to 3 or 1 stock them, or if they will beat me. I know 1 minute in if I will hit them with my UpAir when I try it. With Bowser it's just knowing what to look for in your opponents reaction to Bowser's fighting style. It's knowing when to shield, and when to Fair. It's guessing correctly after a downthrow... do you chase a tech, or do you jump and come down with a Klaw when if he gets up with A instead of teching. With Bowser you want to limit your opponent's decisions as much as possible, and do what you think your oppoent is going to do. If you have your back against a ledge and you shield grab a dash attack, and you throw your opponent off the level, quickly do a forward air - if he jumps into it he's DEAD, if not, YOU MADE HIM ADJUST, fall below the level, and it cost you nothing. Make your opponent adjust to Bowsers fighting style, that is the number 1 thing you have to get out of this post. His fortress after a block or even a hit is such a powerful move, that people won't know how to approach you, and that lets you do what you want.

And Ness is a Bowser counter along with Link... not Young Link though, young link can't handle him. Really high level Link I'm talking about though... the only link I've ever lost to is my brother, but it's the the point now where he two stocks me everytime. But other than him, no link has really given me trouble... I handled Kenshin at FC... so whatever, but my brother is to the point where he's up to Eddie's skill level so whatever.

Mind games are way more important, so your speed against a GOOD Bowser (*cough*Luke*cough) will be trumped whether you like it or not. Yeah Cunning just needs to fight people better than he is to be really good... that's what I told him before I left. He needs to go to MAJOR tourneys, not the little side ones that have ten people who want to get together and do "pretend" tournies.

yea hes gotten better sicne u played him, we just went to some tournie in IN and he won, even tho it was predicted hed be like 4th or 5th,whats crazy about him is that he loses to his opponents at first but after a few games he incorporates what they do into his strat and then starts 2 stocking them over and over again.

Bowser has to many down falls and just because he is not played with that much does not mean that i don't know squat about him. i could name many characters that could destroy bowser before he layed a claw on them. theres alot of peole he's not good against.

Nobody is saying that Bowser is really good. He's just much better than people think or give him credit for. His downfalls are
1. Laggy start to jump
2. Lcancelling doesn't really make a difference (like ganons or links do for instance)

But he's a ******* to fight when held in the right hands...

Unless you've played someone credible, you can't go around saying you can beat anybody. Only noobs do that. Saying you can beat everyone in your neighbourhood, or anybody you "know" isn't much of an accomplishment either.
