i want to know which of them f-smash comes out faster and who's better in the air?

fsmashes come out at the same speed, Marth is obviously better in the air.

Yes, they are both the same speed and Marth is better in the air. MookieRah has this nice explanation of the sword speed and why it seems that Marth's is faster:

* There is a common misconception that Roy's attacks are slower than Marth's, but this is simply not true. Most people will argue that Roy's F-smash is slower than Marth's F-smash, but they too are equally fast. The thing is, Roy's attacks seem slower because you focus on hitting with his sweet spot that is in the center of his blade. Since Marth's power is at the tip, the tip travels a larger distance in the same amount of time as Roy's sweet spot. I have made a quick illustration showing what I mean by this. your link didn't work, but thanks for the tip on how fast their fsmashes are and why it appears marth's is faster...i was fooled the whole time. i seriously thought Marth pwned Roy that bad. Not to offend any Roy players...Roy is the only character I've gotten to master hand on very hard classic: one life.

Marths is 8 frames faster, tested and approved by SuperDoddleMan.

Marth: F Smash

Total: 49
Hit: 10-13
Charge frame: 3
IASA: 48


Roy:F Smash

Total: 57
Hit: 12-14
Charge Frame: 3
IASA: 54

So, Marths IS faster...as you can easily se with doing it with C stick in slow mo melee...Do it at the same time, and Marth finishes faster...

The lag most of all.

If thats right, than Mooks right. According to Mooks example with the 2 swords, he meant the distance the sweetspots of the swords travel, which is the attacking part of the move, it wasn't about the lag.

Looking at the hit that's 2 frames faster, and 2 frames is about 2/60'ths of a second, and that doesn't really matter all that much. And yes, it takes longer for Roy to recover from the attack. That's not what MookieRah was talking about.

Anyways, maybe this is why i get hit outta my f-smash by my friend's >_>. 2 frame difference, doesnt seem like much until u get KO'ed because of it :p, meh

Recovery is negligible IMHO... you do a f-smash and it wiffs/gets blocked, ur gonna be punished regardless, and I highly doubt you can follow up f-smash with anything ;)
