i did it! i was training the whole week for this tournament,
when it finally started it was twenty of us, it ended up with (Falco)-Me and (Sheik)-the best west coast Melee player in my country. It came to "sudden death" and i did my own special tactic, i jumped in the air making him feel that i'm going to do my dair or nair, but i used my shield to slow myself down in the air, and he used his up-smash with his Sheik and missed, thats when i knew i would win, i used my nair because with me it comes out faster than my dair, and that was it i won my fist tournament. Wanted to ask, have anyone used the tactic i told u or am i the first?

:D :bee: :chuckle: :) i'm so happy.

Now wait a second... You used your shield in the air? That's airdodging, and you can't do anything after an airdodge (with the exception of the grapple-abled characters). Could you please be more elaborate with what you said? I don't understand..

Edit : After I posted did I finally understand. Do you mean you shined in the air to slow down your descent?

Yes the shine as a means of delay is an alright mindgames tactic but I'm pretty sure that is should only be attempted before the second jump- otherwise I don't know if you can jump-cancel it- hence leaving your opponent time to destroy you.

Also, is it common in tournaments to have sudden death? I know in V-games sudden death only occurred if the time ran out with both players having equal percents.

Anyway, congrats. As a main falco player, I love it when I see good Falco players show their skills (I want to see him top tier one day- not gonna happen- but I dont' think Fox deserves it...bla bla bla that's another story).

Get better with Falco please! But if you decide to switch characters, whatever you do, DON"T USE MARTH. I hate him so much, and all Falco players should too, although I am a hypocrite since I will be using him as a counter against Jiggly. :(

Lol I'm just venting- please disregard this post :)
