'Falco' question

I was in trianing mode this morning using Falco, and i was practicing my dash,SH,nair into shine. I want to know if i have to fast fall after doing nair, i know i have to L-cancel then do shine, but i don't know if i have to fast fall after doing my nair, can someone help me plz.

You should fast fall, because it's faster, and faster is better when it comes to rushing them and setting up shine combos.

Yes, you should always fast fall, whenever you do any SH aerial attack. However, the nair into shine combo will only work when your opponent is on low percentages, too high and they will be knocked away from you. If this starts to happen, use dair instead.

Of course if the opponent likes 2 use SH arials u might want to be cautious and dair to spike if they decide to try to SH or jump. Use to the best of your own judgement.

I can't think of a situation where not fast falling would be the better option. Shffling, which includes fast falling, is always the best way to use aerials unless of course your opponent lis always above you in which case no short hopping but the point is- whenever you do an aerial, fast fall and then l-cancel. That way, you can easily follow up with another attack, a dodge, or some sort of setup like more SHL.

So the answer to your question is yes- fast fall your nairs.

There are times when it is better NOT to fastfall an aerial. Example: you are dash shorthopping into your opponent with the nair if you don't fastfall you can space it so you land behind them and then up tilt right away. This works with other characters too; mario, marth, fox for example. This way you cannot be shield grabbed and you can pressure them. Also when you are attempting to slide to the ledge or off a platform. By slide I mean the auto triangle jump thing that occurs when you hold to the side as your landing and if your close enough to the ledge(in the case of the ledge you will land right on it since your sliding onto it from the stage, this is good for edgeguarding) or the edge of any platform you will slide right off and with fastfalling this couldn't occur.

It depends on the situation- nair is one of Falco's best early finishers since if properly timed can send your opponent a good horizontal distance. You can't expect to kill someone with a dair unless they're off the stage (or have a HIGH amount of damage :))
