I thought that I should make this topic because the concept is entirely unique to samus. That and I have some questions about it. First, through missle-canceling samus can hit an opponent with a missle and an attack (dash attack, fsmash... whatever) at the same moment. Is the damage done by this the sum of the attack and the missle? Is it the same with the knockback? or should I just stick to spacing the two by a few frames, just to be sure of the damage?

Heh, the damage if you hit at the same time is added, and the one with higher knockback decides how far it will go.

However, not everytime you do this will you hit at the very frame as the missile. One way to take advantage of this is to jab the right after the missile, then dsmash or fsmash. There's really no downside to hitting with both, unless you want the weaker attacjk to hit first, but other than that, there's no reason i can think of not to try this every time you can.

The higher knockback move does not decide how far it will go, it all depends on which move is done second. Unless you were only speaking of when both moves hit at the exact same time, in which case i haven't tried to hit the missle and the ground move at the EXACT same frame (is that even possible?). Either way its more likely to happen on different frames than that Exact 1/60 or so of a second (i understand some moves could leave one susceptible to another hit for more than 1 frame). Anyways, a super missle into a missle cancelled dash attack will get the knockback of the dash attack despite the fact that the missle has greater knock back (on seperate but close frames at least). More obvious is an example of a chargeshot where the guy lands right into a bomb the moment he is hit by the chargeshot, the knockback of the second move(bomb) takes priority and instead of getting launched to death by the first move(chargeshot), they are stopped by the weak knockback of a bomb. And the moves are usually counted as a combo as long as they are fast enough to get hit by another move after the missle cancel, so yeah the damage is added.

yes, i was talking about when they hit on exactly the same frame, i know i've done it a few times, and the one with higher knockback (priority really, but knockback is in a good correlation to priority, so i guess i worded that misleadingly though) will be the one in deciding how far the person is sent. In all other instances it is decided on which hits second. Also both damages will still count if they hit in the same frame.
