I've got some questions about spiking with Fox's Down B/Falco's Side B.

Which part of the Reflector has to hit them? I was practicing against Bowser, and he didn't get spiked, he just fell back a bit, then recovered with his Up B.

How can you spike with the Falco Phantasm? Do you both have to be in the air? I saw someone spike with it in a Falco vs. Marth vid on Captain Jack's site, and I'm not sure how you have to do it.

Thanks in advance.

that is fox's spike. it knocks them back, shine spike, if you will. you can kill someone just hitting them with it twice, if you set it up right (i.e. they're on the edge, run up, shine, jump back on the ledge, let them double jump and/or upb, shine again, dead, for most characters). doesn't always work perfectly, but it's a huge danger for other characters so it's great pressure for fox.

falco, you just hit them with your whoosh. if they get hit, they go down, but it's a meteor so it can be cancelled.

Fox- Hit them with the bottom part of the reflector to send them about 75 degrees down.

Falco- If your opponent is anywhere in your path when you do ->B, then they'll be spiked.

The only time I can think of when the pahntasm spike would actually be useful is if ur recovering and the opponent comes out to meet u. In the process of recovering to the edge you spike them, and even if they do cancel it u now have the advantage( a complete turnaround).:chuckle:

Right on KRISP just use it when coming back if they chase u in the air works perfect and should be the only time u need to use that move for a spike....also works good during battle sometimes if you place it right use the over b then f-smash them

Often when my opponent is trying to recover and I know I have time to edgehog, I'll set it up so that I jump off the stage, use the phantasm just as they arrive, and grab the edge. That way, it pressures them to move out of the way which could ultimately kill them. However, just make sure you don't get in the path of one of their attacks. I only use this when I know I can meet them at a point where they can't attack me without killing themselves. But I suppose that is mostly for show :)
