Backwards wavedashing is a useful thing against other projectile characters.

I dont use it really in matches against non projectile characters unless there slow.

It blocks most of them out there and effective cause the wavedash is so long they wont catch up.

And if anyone trys to tell you to use it for edge gaurding there wrong. Not usually that effective in the edgegaurding game.

I think it works as edgeguard move.
try WD:ing forward and shoot the fireball so that you fall down at the same time. Also fireball can screw up fox/falco illusion sometimes.
I usually shoot a fireball somewhere to prevent them not going there and go where I am waiting for them (works quite good, nothing gamebreaking though)

You can try Powershielding other guys projectiles (falco mostly) or simply WD towards them and sidestep the projectile. this is risky but if you use it sparingly you are able to suprise your opponent who thought (s)he was safe.

Then one more thing. If you WD away from opponent and shoot fireball, try shorthopping the fireball because that cuts their possibilty to approach you back with aerials for a moment.

HOPE this HELPS ! :)
