new marth dash-attack-thingy-perhaps?

i may just be ignorant of this particular move, but hold on with me here.
i've been trying new marth, dash, f-smash tactics, and i found this out. (and by the way, it is much easier than DA dashing.)
when you dash forward, you hold the control stick, and almost immediately after, you hit a, causing you to do a (no c-stick) smash attack. this allows you to extend his reach, and when you get the timing down, you can do it out of a Dash dance, much easier than a DA too.
your thoughts? is it already known? will it revolutionize the Smash world? will no one care at all? is marth cheap?

wait, it sounds almost like doing you're doing a smash attack with the control stick instead of the c-stick!!! Crazy. Are you implying that he slides some significant distance? Doing it out of dash dance is basically taking advantage of the pivot action like the DA dash, only you are using the control stick instead of c-stick.

Hmm, I tried it, and it seems it does add a BIT of difference, but I doubt it's revolutionary, and the difference is almost impossible to notice and would definitely be difficult to percieve during battle. Sounds kinda like powershielding: good move, not often consciously done.

As for the c-stick... I might use it once in every 500 matches. ;) I prefer the traditional way.

Not using the C-stick for aireal's makes it impossible to DI all the way while doing air attacks, spacing is just easier and better with the C-stick.

Hmmm, I tried this, you forgot to mention that after the first ID you have to slam the OTHEr direction backwards. I guess its like an initial dash cancel into a smash. Kinda like how you can JC into an upSmash.

Edit: After doing this in slow motion. I decided that this is the exact same thing as doing a Pivot. The action of smashing out of the initial dash causes the pivot and is then followed by the smash.
