I read this in a Marth Guide:

"Wavedash: done by jumping then immediately pressing down and right or down and left and airdodging, if done correctly it should produce a sliding effect which can be used to edge hog, or make portable smashes, can also be used in combos to more efficiently string together attacks. You can tell you have done a wavedash correctly when the character doesn’t leave the ground, and can be seen most prominently by Luigi."

But how hard I try, I can never make it. Plz, can anyone give me a tip or something.

Everytime a try, a press Y, then before i possible can press down and right Marth have jump.

Can someone also explain what airdodging is.

First, airdodging is when you press L or R in the air to dodge and attack. You can move during and airdodge by holding a direction. To practice doing this, go to training mode, final destination, and 1/4 speed. Keep on wavedashing by jumping and when you see Luigi leave the ground airdodge down and in a direction. When you've mastered it at that speed (not hard) go to 1/2, then 2/3, then 1. And to make sure you really know it after 1 go to x2 speed.

well actually u airdodge before the character leaves the ground. when u have speed on 1/4 you can see clearly that when you press x/y/up to jump, the character bends his knees for a few frames and then jumps. you should press R/L + control stick diagonal to ground in the frames where the knees are bent. and I think rebel means you can airdodge in a direction, not move DURING an airdodge.

I used IceClimbers to wavedash, they were easier for me and later practice came to try to get both climbers to dash with each other...

I'm a terrible newb as well. I just learned how to WD, but I found it easier to do with the X button followed by the R button. The first couple of times that I did it right and in a row, it actually hurt my fingers a bit. It stopped hurting after practicing it in training for awhile.

thats the best way to get the wavedash down, in training mode. and when you get the chance, try implementing it in your game, like running toward your opponent and wavedashin back, cause there is no point in learning if you dont implement it. after a while, it will become 2nd nature to you. when i first tried it out. it was extremely hard. but now i use it more than shielding, when i used to constantly rely on the shield or dodging.

Just practice in training mode until you can do it indefinitely.
