What are some advantages and disadvantages, if any, for Marth in Onett?

Marth's up-tilt rocks under any platform; namely, the one on the right side (stand ontop of the house, but under the other thing) and the one on the left (in the middle, it's kinda tiny, but you can hide out there). Marth loses the ability to edge-guard though, and that hurts his game quite a bit.

Marth's f smash is very useful in these kind of spaces since it has alot of reach and can cross com walls and even vertical distances (platforms). The disadvantage of a place like this one is that Marth's aerial game is obstructed by the buildings and it gives your opponent time to recover from those kinds of hits. Something else that might bother you is the fact that there is no way to "drop" your opponent since its a stage with only three kill angles (left, right and up). My suggestion is to stay in the middle, use mostly smash attacks and take advantage of the platforms.

So would you consider Marth to have more advantages or disadvantages in Onett, or would they kind of even out?

Well, it depends on a lot of things, like what character you're playing against and weather you'll be using items or not. I myself prefer playing in places like Final Destination and Hyrule Castle mostly (I'm also a Marth player) because I have a chance of using my techniques more freely than in places like Onett and it's also alot better to edge gaurd in those places. Too bad around here theres just one more Marth who's level is high enough to actually have good battles...
