Eww... What a horrible matchup for Bowser... Like, it's not impossible, as long as you're much better than your opponent. But it's worth a bloody thread 'cuz it's hard.
I will be posting up my own stuff later... Gonna' just put the thread up here for now.

After you block his first Fair or Dair or whatever I dodge/roll whatever you call it away from him. You have to beat him in a stand up heads up game. I don't even try to fortress out of shield because he can jump cancel so well. Get him off and you can kill him with Forward Tilt very very easily. Always throw him off the ledge when you can.

>I must sympathize with you...if any matchup is difficult for teh k00pa, it is this. Ganon not only has similar size and power to Bowser, but much greater attack speed. He can combo Bowser to no end, and then Meteor him to his doom.
>The best thing to beating Ganondorf is knowing the Meteor Cancel. That way, you can not be spiked. Even then, it's still a major uphill battle. Ganon also has greater reach.

Not as bad as a LOT of others though, namely jigglypuff, falcon, sheik

I find the best way to win against a Ganon player is to go for garbage kills and try and get quick deaths on them. If you can manage to throw a Ganon player off the edge, turn around (if you did a forward throw, but I prefer back throw) and let them have it with Bair, repeat... repeat... repeat... until they can't get back, it's brutal.
I'd also wind up a headbutt waiting by the edge so when Ganon does his Up + B, you can catch em with the horns and kill him at around 50% (3/4 to full charge)

Some stuff...
After you block his first Fair or Dair or whatever I dodge/roll whatever you call it away from him.
That will simply let him shuffle another Fair, this one landing right in your face as your roll ends. Bowser's roll is crap.
The best thing to beating Ganondorf is knowing the Meteor Cancel. That way, you can not be spiked.
Thing is, with Bowser's crappy vertical recovery, you probably won't be able to make it to the edge after getting spiked, even if you manage to cancel it. A good Ganon usually goes for the Wizard's Foot spike against Bowser anyway, which cannot be meteor cancelled. Or he'll simply jump off and Fair you in the mouth every single time you try to recover with the Fortress.
Have fun.

That's not true at all. When fighting a Ganon and you get caught blocking either his Dair or Fair, it is in your best interest to roll in one of the directions away from him. You can't block two of them in succession, and you surely don't want to get caught underneath him. Your best bet is to do whatever you can to completely reset your attack on him altogether... start from scratch, and try to get around his Fair with good mind games. When I play Eddie, if I don't consciously think about rolling away from him the entire fight after I block one of his aerials he destroys me.
And yes garbage KOs are the way to kill him for sure... though I will insist that hitting Ganon and falcon with the Ftilt is the best way to edgeguard him.
Flame cancel him as much as possible because it only makes your aerials easier to hit because your opponent will be too worried about keeping to the air.

Wouldn't Fortressing away be a much safer option? As far as I know it'd be very easy to follow Bowser's roll with a wavedash into neutral A, a Wizard's Foot, a shuffled back air, neutral air or fair... I mean if you try to roll THROUGH Ganon to get in his back, you'll simply end up right next to him, vulnerable to a back fist. If you roll the other way to put more space between you and him, he can probably Wizard Foot you right as your roll ends. I've got little Ganon versus Bowser experience, I'll have to try it out sometime.

Bowser VS ganon is very situational... I have found that in general it's better to roll, but it depends on your opponent and how good he is. Do you use Bowser, or do you use Ganon? If you've never fought a good Bowser before it might be totally different.

Bowser VS. Ganon is almost impossible because of ganon's jab so i would suggest to try and abuse bowser's up B to sweep him off his feet but you'll have to wait until ganon has enough damage. How you bring his damage up is the question i can't answer

Mind games are what you need to utilize to beat Ganondorf... that, and his horizontal movement isn't very good.
When I play Eddie, we do a lot of "feeling each other out" so there is a lot of jumping forwards and backwards... moreso than what I do anyway, and since his horizontal movement isn't as good as most people, if you play just slightly off of him, you can run in and grab when he comes down - of course that's assuming he's not going to throw the fist out there just for the sake of throwing his fist out there. Always shove ganon to the edge... pancake him across the level, and when you get him off the ledge, walk all the way to the furthest part of the level and edgeguard him like it's your job. It's really easy.
And should he get the edge, most good ganon's get up off the ledge with jump, so try to neutral A or up air in anticipation of that.

A lot of people here have. In fact, smashboards was around even BEFORE Melee came out. There’s a difference between playing the game for 3 years and playing the game for 3 years competitively.

You know what? He made a post stating his opinion on what to do fighting Ganondorf. He's entitled to an opinion. Instead of telling him he sucks, tell him what's wrong with what he said.
Don't get any ideas. I'm not defending him, just people's right to opinions.

You CAN roll away from Ganondorf before his neutral A comes out... I have videos of myself doing it... it's not hard at all... still a hard matchup though

if the ganon is picking up on your rolling, then you'll eat another aerial forward at the end of the roll. (or aerial back if you rolled behind him).
It's all in the mindgames, so rolling everytime after he attacks you is getting a bit predictable.
Not getting forced to shield would be the best way I guess, but then again, bowser's horizontal mobility isn't that great.
What I usually do, after shielding his fair, is to block his jab, then 'fortress away. The shield can make it, if it's not damaged much.
that or to exchange hits with him.. at least you'll damage him.
