projectiles are the main part of link's battle tactics, IMO, but you shouldn't completely rely on them. It's a good thing that you are aware of this :)

I'm not the greatest link player by a long-shot (no pun intended), but I can assure you that you should use your projectiles mainly to stun in order to set up for other attacks.

The boomerang is one of the best projectiles to have: just keep it out in the battlefield unless you're going for the kill, or are on the defensive Then, it's best to have it in your arsenal for emergency situations. Also, as you probably know, a point-blank bomerang is great for continuous throws if you land the first one. I've gotten some characters to %50 with just the boomerang before...

The arrows can be useful for edge-guarding or in melees, but their only other use in a 1 on 1 would be to stop other projectiles or get in the way of a rollout (or similar attack)

The bombs... well, I must admit i spam bombs like mad... mainly to get characters to come to me. I'm a defensive player, what can I say?

As you can see, all of these have their uses, but none are great for kills. I reccommend you work on your air combat mainly because link is slow on the ground and his 'best' moves have a fair amount of lag, whereas in the air it's much harder to guess which move is coming.

SHFFling is also really handy, as I've just recently discovered, and L-cancelling is a must for link players. I was L-cancelling before i even knew it had a name...

I can't really offer any advice to stop using projectiles completely, as they are a big part of link's game, but if you really feel that you are relying too much on them, try training in single-button melee. (the only problem i see with this is that the jump buttons and up-b recovery go out the window :( )

well, theres the well-known grab, hit, throw down, up-b...

I also use my boomerang at close range to stun while i get ready for a smash... also jumping then throwing a bomb is a great way to distract the enemy... just make sure you follow the bomb to the enemy where you can either short-hop a fair, or if they do get hit by thr bomb, up-b.

link really isnt the greatest characters for comboes, but I'm sure some of the better links here can help you more htan I can :)

What i like to do is to hit them with a bomb then pull off an up-b or i use grab either up throw up tilt some or up smash or down throw and up-b but people can get out of that **** easily sometimes so be catious

The D throw to Up B is easily beated by a tech and roll. I personally have done this against a frien'ds link many times.

As for some things I have noticed. I am pretty sure that Link and Y. Link pull out their bombs faster in the air. So insteasd of standing still try to SH and pull one out. Also, a personal favorite tactice of mine is to jump around throwing bombs up, forward, down, and dropping them. This confuses the opponent slightly, and a hit will set them up for a fair.

Given this is from a Mario player...

Actually, at higher percentages you'd actually want to DI upwards after the up+b, mid air jump and retaliate, cause if you DI downwards, you won't get to the ground fast enough to tech-roll.
