This only works when at low percent cause when there higher you cant just edge gaurd normal but the down tilt with link seems to help keep them down and with some characters you can just keep using it and well **** them up

Yea, that is one of the more popular techniques. I myself am more a fan using arrows to edgeguard, and maybe a bomb or two.

Sorry, but using Link's down tilt is just effing retarded to edgeguard with, unless your Y. Link cause that one actually spikes almost 100% of the time unlike Link where you have to hit them with the handle. There are so many better moves you can do, like Links forward tilt actually goes over the edge and knocks them away rather than up. Or just using a down smash allows you to time it better cause it's buttloads faster. The only time I really try to spike with the downtilt is maybe against Falcon and Ganon because there up+b is quite slow.

Yeah, that works a lot better for young link... but for better or for worse, in most situations where that would be applicable you're better off with his downsmash

just as a random aside about edge guarding with link, I think the absolute most awesome edge guard would be his running spin attack. Start the spin right as you go over the edge and you have the initial hitting frames of the spin attack coupled with you grabbing the edge backwards as you slide off for a ledge hog. I don't play link well at all, but having pulled that off a few times just feels really good, practice match or not. It's a shame young link's spin just pops them up or this would be an excellent tactic for him too.

Ylinks ain't too bad either... against fast fallers it catches, and against most others at low percents you can do a grounded upB into a ftilt and edgeguard from that. sorry, this topic's about link.

I would say definitely use projectiles when possible and when they get close use things like bomb drops to hit sweet spotters and against others just upB or dash attack.
