I think this is the move that gives new Marth players trouble. I couldn't do it for a long time.

I jump with the x button and I realized I was going too slow to do two f airs in one short hop. So I asked for help on the hub and they told me to do one f air then use the c stick for the second one. Still no luck.

Then one day I was messing around with Jiggly trying to carry Ganon off the stage with back airs. I do my wall of pain with the Z button so I figured hey this might work for Marth.

So if you are having trouble with twin f airs in one sh try using the z button for the first one then using A or the c stick for the second one. Just thought I'd suggest this because I've never heard anyone suggest it to people who have trouble with twin f airs.

I don't have much trouble doing it with either the A button or the C-stick so it's not very usefull for me, but for n00b Marth's this might actually help out quite a lot.

I think doing things like: twin fair with marth, shorthop slap with sheik and then jump again, shorthop uair/bair with ganon and jump again etc is all preference. I personally use the control stick to shorthop for these kind of things and then I use the c-stick for the aerials. Normally I shorthop with x and I mix it up between the c-stick and a for aerials.

I just do the twin fairs using c-stick for both of them. Just how a practiced and learned it, so it just hasn't been a problem for me. I particularly like this way simply because you can still have complete control of marth in the air while doing it. Like using twin fairs while moving backwards. Or have the first one while moving forward, and then moving backwards a bit for the second. Again, this is just how I do things.

zelda hop fair nair is a fun one too. bair nair is much easier.

My younger cousin who is learning to play Melee, and plays Marth, actually benefited from this technique. It was random, I was trying to show him how to do a double fair, and he couldn't do it, so we were just sitting there doing nothing and I got on SWF, and found this. A few minutes later, he could do it as well this way as I can do it with the C-stick/A button.

Yay, I helped.

I don't play Marth at all really, it just pissed me off that I couldn't twin f air.

This isn't game breaking or anything, I just wanted to help people who might have trouble with this.

Another easy way if your trying to learn it in training mode without the CStick is if you hold your thumb over the Y button and A button. All you do is tap Y with the top of your thumb and A with the bottom of your thumb immediately after. This is also how you do the double short jump laser with Fox except with B.

I use the control stick to do fox's double shorthop blaster.

This is a shorthopped double f-air, so just shorthop, slip your finger over the a button and tap it quickly to perform both fairs.

I would go with what dismojoe said, i do slide imput where i click the bottom of y and slide down to click twice, it is extremely easy this way, when i first tried to figure it out on 1/4 speed i did sh then click z then a, but now i can do it better than i could on 1/4 mode

I just learned this, but I haven't mastered it. All I have to say though is fast and rythmic fingers will really really help!! I don't do the slide technique. As soon as I hit X I hit A and then hit A again. Almost at the exact same time I hit X. Its really hard and at first I didn't think it was even possible.

i'm a semi-marth player (my main character's in my avvie) but when I saw this thread I was surprised that the double fair is such a used move...and that people are having trouble with it. it's terribly easy to do if you slide input it, but I do it different because i use the x button. And the a button. i think it'd be harder with the c-stick, having to move your thumb from the x or y all the way down to the stick. unless you tap jump. but that messes me up when i tap jump. Can't DI very well. Anyhoo, I learned how to double fair fighting on FD vs. lv. 9s over and over; one way I like to start combos is to sh fair wile moving toward the comp and then one day I realised i still had some airtime and discovered the double fair. i play Soul calibur 2 too much. gets me all into the slide input.

btw I've been almost able to double nair, and I can double fair, but i can't fair nair or nair fair. even if I jump slightly higher to get that extra air, I still can't link a nair to a fair. Do these attacks hate each other or something? It's like the lag increases if you don't use the same attack; that seems awkward to me. I also hate how you have to wait for marth's a combo to come to a complete stop before using an f-tilt. Really slow. a double fair might work though...
