So does anyone ever use this? It's definitely a little different from the others, but I find it does have a purpose. Not many though, in fact pretty much just one. I was in a fight with Doc and he threw out a fsmash, and for some reason (perhaps it was due to my playing either Ice Climbers or Marth earlier) I wavedashed back giving me a free hit. Maybe I'm overreacting, but it just seemed to work so perfectly.
Plus I had heard no mention of it earlier so I figured I'd see what the more experienced players around here have to say about her wavedash, which is often called the most useless in the game (which leads many to believe that it can't be used).

I wouldn't say Peach has the most useless WD in the game. It's a little tricky to pull of, and I can only WD back with any consistency, but it is quite useful. Another thing is that most opponents won't expect you to WD, so you can catch them offguard.

A lot of my matches nowadays feature me wavedashing like a mofo and my friends hating me for it. It's one of the next levels of skill when trying to maximize Peach. Learning her WD is essential to get her speed up. Wavedashing/wavelanding off platforms is fun, too...

I agree, wavedashing with Peach is good for countering and attacking. Also to run, wavedash backwards (while, for instance, Marth fsmashes) and then dash-grab.

However, wavedashing with Peach as a substitute for dashing is worthless :P. Zelda and Peach have the shortest WDs in the game (I read that somewhere).

Peach's WD is definitly not as long/good as most other char's, but it's still incredibly useful. Like you all said, avoiding attacks/counterattacks. On a Whiff'd move/anything where opponent is in lag, if I'm close, but not close enough for the dash grab, it's great to dash into a quick WD so you can make the grab before they regain control of their char. A back WD is always nice to give you that little bit of breathing room to pull another turnip too. As well as the occassional WaveDance/dash WD back for mind games. Definitly useful.

well, nowadays I couldn't do half as good in a tourney without using my peach's wavedash. wavedashing after aerials leads into comboes that you could usually never pull off and peach's WD makes a perfect mind game. with the peach vs marth matchup, marths usually tend to space themselves so that they hit you with their tip, WDing effectively makes them miss and you can get a hit in. Peach's wavedash has just 2 many uses to state here.
RyokoYaksa said it already, it's one of the next level skills to maximize your peach's abilities (a non-WDing peach is like a non-WDing marth, utter crap :P)

i use Peach's WD a lot, especially since i like to balance aerial/ground attacks. but i guess i shouldn't rely on it too much since it leaves me open for about a second.

I've learnt how to wavedash to such a degree that I can usually WD across FD without screwups. BUT, I still haven't learnt how to wavedash after being in the air (aerial, neutral land, whatever). How do you time this? :P

hmm... I suggest first trying with luigis waveland. I usually push the Analogstick to right/left and a little downward and I have practised the timing of pressing L/R (I actually use both but usually R) at the right time which is the hardest thing.
I havenīt tried this with Peach but I donīt think itīs too hard even though of the short WD. Itīs just harder to get results that matter.

With Peach, you can't even compare her WD to Luigi's. It's muuuch harder to do.
