I talked about this on Falco's edgeguarding. I ended by saying it isn't worth doing. If it is worth doing, that's you.

Look at MoF's Falco to Fox vids on dc++ and see how Falco's waveshine can sometimes be useful. In some matches, Dave and MoF use it few times as well.

I was banned from DC++. I haven't seen the video.

I use Falco's waveshine quite frequently, and for three reasons.

When people DI the shine, they often can't be followed up just by jumping cancelling. So, I wavedash out of shine and hit them. Very practical.

More importantly, IMO, it adds an air of unpredictability. If you don't ever waveshine, you probably jump cancel every time, and that gets predictable. I've played some non-wavedashing people, and just aim a charge shot, knee, etc. way over their heads whenever I see a jump coming. Sure enough, they jump right into it.

Lastly, I just love to wavedash. I sometimes like to go into a frenzy of DD, WD, SHB, and shine like mad during a match, just for the heck of it. Of course, some people I play against have learned that I'm NOT just randomly running around that they WILL get hit if they try to attack.

So, there you have it! Far from useless.
