Having some trouble with Marth's double fair

Should I be using the A button or the C-stick for it? When do I know when to do the second fair?

I'm accustomed to using the c-stick for most of my attacks, but I can use the A button just for that particular manuever. I already know that I'm not supposed to fastfall it. Is there anything else I should know?

I C-stick most of Marth's areal game, but not the double Fairs.. 'cept I sometimes C-stick the second Fair if I need my analogue stick to manuever back to make sure I hit/get a tipper if needed.

You should do your second Fair the very moment the first one ends.. (you don't have to wait out the full ending animation, keep that in mind) just keep trying to do it as early as possible and you'll get the feel eventually.
Unfortunatly there is once again no shortcut to learning this.. just keep trying.

Don't forget to L-cancel and not FF it obviously ^^

So that's --> SH, first Fair as fast as possible after jumping (use the A button.. it's closer to the jump button), second Fair as soon as first one ends, L-cancel --> repeat.

It might be easier if you jump with "Y". Place your thumb on "Y" and quickly tap it and slide your thumb down to "A" and tolting foward on Control Stick. Don't think it help much but meh.

I hate to break it to you, but there's really no way to get better at it except to practice it. You may want to avoid using the C-stick for it, as Rune said, but it can be done with the C-stick if you really want. Also, don't try to mash the buttons in order to pull it off, it's better to get the timing down between the fairs. With some practice you should be able to pull it off pretty consistently, so just work at it.

If you make sure you do the first one while rising, the second one should fall into place slightly easier. i used to start the two after i was falling, and that obviously didn't work.

I almost forgot I had this topic. Thanks for the advice guys, I'm getting used to doing it. There's still one more thing I want to ask though...Can Marth do his double aerials without having to do a forward small jump?

Yes, Marth can short hops backwards and do double f-air.

Or you could be like me, use Z for aerials =). Unless I need to get the tip for the second fair, I do as what Rune says. Use Z for the first fair, then using the analog stick to drift back, use C-stick for the second fair.
