I've recently been trying Samus a bit; at first, I thought she was a bit slow for my tastes, with too sucky recovery, but I've gotten over it. Not many people around here use Samus, so I figure they wouldn't know how to counter her :) . Could someone tell me some good combos? I can already do the bomb jump, and I'm getting pretty good at hitting my oponents with a fully charged Charge Shot, when they're not expecting it (e.g. I had had a fully charged Shot for about 2 minutes, and my friend, standing at the other end of Pokemon Stadium, said "Why don't you just launch it?" And I did, and KO'd him with it! :chuckle: ) Anyway, I'd appreciate some good combos, tips, and strategies for Samus. Thanks! :)

There's a lot of threads here filled with info; I'd suggest looking through them, then coming back and asking anything you're not sure about.
you should read the aftermath guide to samus and her recovery is awsome, i dont know why you think its sucky.

No, I mean I thought Samus had sucky recovery before I knew about the bomb jump.

yeah, a small little tip that i found awhile ago but i don't think other samuses use as much is....
END ALL OF YOUR COMBOS WITH A SWEET-SPOTTED B-AIR!!
while this sounds either simple or kind of hard to do, end all combos with a bair, it's invaluable and incredibly easy to set up. when you're combo-ing someone and would be going for the final uair or fair to finish, just change your jump a little and land this, is has incredible knockback and good trajectory.

where exactly is the sweet spot on the bair though?

the sweetspot of the bair is just off her heel. it's a pretty big disjointed hitbox too.

That's a pretty good tip that I never actually thought about...Always just sorta did it by habit. It just seems right.

Just a small thing; if you've got a fully charged charge shot, try hitting them with a homing missile before you shoot; you'll have a higher chance of hitting them, since they'll be stunned by the missile. This'll work for a while, until they figure out a way around it (Works wonders on computers though :) ).

actually, shooting a homing missile to a beam isn't the greatest idea, sometimes it'll hit just after the beam because the beam travels so much faster, when it does, the beam will give them damage and the missile will just stop the person. It's sortof a bat drop type thing with the missile i guess, but it's fun sometimes. a better thing to do would be super missile to beam, but both are rather predicable.

that only happens if you missle cancel the homing, and if you're about 1/3 the length of FD away.

I was talking about hitting them at a fairly short range; I said homing missile instead of non-homing missile, because the non-homing missile has more knockback, so depending on their damage %, they'll get knocked too far by the missile for the charge shot to hit.

How do you missile cancel and bomb jump?
