It's good to short hop his spike when your opponent is about to jump back up. Just to annoy people, I like to SHL and then wait for them up B+UP so I can short hop spike them. Also, do you have to L-cancel the short hop spike if you dair while jumping up? Cuz it seems like you don't. Haha, I love doing the SHL on the computer while it's try to get back on stage. I give them false hope then CROOSH DEM!

I have a question about Falco. I've seen some people hang onto the edge with Falco on a stage, for example, Pokemon Stadium, and when the opponent was about to come back, the person pushed down and second-jumped doing a bair to the opponent. I've tried doing that but I don't jump as high as them. Can anyone answer why?

When you push down, you go into fast fall. Try pushing back instead.

Also, do you have lag when you SHnair?

Yes. If the aerial attack animation does not complete when you land, you will have lag and you will need to L-cancel.

AND... How do you waveshine? I've tried but it requires me to move my fingering and I don't think moving my fingering would be very useful in battle... Also, is it worth it to waveshine with Falco? I think it's only worth it with Fox because of his infinite combo. [/B]

Look around the forums, and yes, it is worth learning to waveshine with Falco.

Does anyone know another way to waveshine without using the joystick or quickly moving your thumb to the Y button before I try and master it?

Waveshining is much easier using Y or X than it is the control stick.

But as for Falcos Edgeguarding, use his spike. You can usually do it without even falling off, so then you won't have to worry about "not jumping as high as them." :D

I've learned that waveshining isn't worth using with Falco or at least not for me. His shine makes people go up and it would be better to combo shines than wavedash for no reason.

Waveshining with Falco opens up a huge amount of combos, especially on the fast fallers.

Learn it, it's kinda hard but it is extremely useful. It also makes you less predictable, most players catch on now a days and will block your aerial attack and your shine then jump out of their shield and hit you.

I like to mix it up with jumps, wavedashes, short hops and grabs out of the shine, keeps your opponent on his toes.

I still gotta learn to double shine....

Waveshines are definitely worth the effort. Just look at Dave use them.

I can do them, but I admit, I have a hard time incorporating them into combos.

I would shine, jump-cancel even if they shield and dair and grab until they can't take it. Unless they keep shielding. Then it would be SHL time!

Im a bit comfused with boards and everything here ... -.-

Well anyways im having problems doing a infinite. The problem is the one where you shine,wd,shien,wd etc. ( peach, link, zelda ). I shine my opponent then i wavedash although im not behind my opponent im in front .... So all i do is i shine,wd until the edge of the stage then wd a last time and shine him for one last time.

Thats not an infinite no ? I heard im supposed to be behind the opponent after performing the wd. Can anyone help me ?

do most other falco players abuse the down smash, i find that it sends the opponent out and down, which can get a good kill, along with the dair.

It's okay to use, but very very rarely. Theres almost ALWAYS something better you can do. The dsmash's only saviour is that its a bit faster than the godly fsmash and hits on both sides, so it has it's place from time to time.

quick question, who has the better d-smash between fox and falco?

Falcos D-smash by far I find it has greater knock back and greater range thnx to Falco's toe.

Hero of nobody you might be thinking about Fox's Drill shine Infinite in which you can do an inverse of it by drilling past and behind your opponent to him on the other side. Though it might be possible to do what you are talking about ive never seen it done. I think you would wd off of the edge in an attempt to get behind the opponent.

Does any one ever use their Pointer finger to do waveshines?

Falco's by far in my opinion because of both range and power advantages, plus its quite fast. It's also very useful as an edge guard if they dont sweet spot, and unless they are a supreme recovering character, they are basically dead if they are hit.

for the edgeguarding if an opponet is higher in the air and has a decent aerial move like marth's slice or up B and luigi's chop, i occasionally use the back kick instead of the spike. is that a good idea?

Any move is a good edge guarding move.

Falco's dsmash is better because of the range

When doing the waveshine infinte you can waveshine past the person then do the same thing only backwards e.x fox will face right but you wavedash left and shine
