does doc have a good wd, i was wondering if i should roll or WD. i don't know i am a noob.

Doc's wavedash is pretty good, it is really good for his attack setup and such, much better than rolls. almost always whenever you see a vid with doc in it you will see them make him WD back and shffl'd ariel. a good vid that shows this is Dr.Mario(Azen) vs. Falco(Anden)

Docs wavedash is longer than his Roll, its also very quick. I only use it for pill rushes like:

WD back, Pill, WD, Pill, Pill, WD Foward, Pill & Jump & Pill. I'v also found it's quite useful for evading, as its VERY quick & quite easy to do.

Wavedash over roll, no contest. Doc's WD is pretty long and comes out quick. You can use it to move around instead of his run sometimes, and it really makes him more agile. I use it, as I said in another post, to "poke" for openings. When in close range, I wavedash forward and backward, hoping for my opponent to make a mistake and applying pressure. And the pills help increase that pressure. Eventually I find an opportunity to come in with a downsmash or F-air or whatever.

EDIT: Roll only when you really have to. With D-smash and pills, this shouldn't happen too often.

Doc has a great wavedash. Whether your using it for pill rushing, or wavedashing up to them to dsmash or fsmash them, it's far superior to rolling.

I have to admit that I indeed abuse Docs wavedash.
You can use it enough to make people expect you to use it, then wavecancel (downwards wavedash) to fake people out. Pretty cool stuff.

Doc has a very good wavedash, but do not just choose whether to use his rolls or WD. doc has great rolls too and neither one should be used all the time.
