I have a lot of problems when playing against Shiek, Shiek seems to be the only person to be able to Chain throw me and I get up to 70-80% damage alone when being chain grabbed and I can't get out until then. How do I get out of it and what are some tips when playing against a good Shiek?
well the way i get out of chain throughs is be DIing one way and trying to tech. if there good at it, you will get to the edge and they will have to stop. but it could be bad because they could just edge gaurd and kill you. well i dont play against good chain throughers, so meh
I'd say that while shielding needles and dodging and all try to keep her at bay. It depends on your experience as a Marth. I've had lots of experience with Roy and Marth, so I'm used to my tactics. Definately try to use your quick sword swipes and forward smashes to keep Sheik away, and maybe try to side-dodge (the L + down one). Hitting her with the tip of your blade on a smash can be very effective, if, of course, followed up by more attacks while she's vulnerable. But be careful of her quick recovery, especially if her opperator L-cancels well. I'm starting to use Sheik, so I'm also trying to say what I hate when facing Marth. If you can keep her away with your sword than it shouldn't be that bad, but it really depends on the skill of both players. If the Sheik is using her quick attacks and a few down and up smashes with a lot of arial, then she knows what shes doing. Be especially careful not to get juggled, but remember to add a few counters, maybe 2 or 3 in the entire fight, unless she's inexperienced enough to fall into them a lot. But still keep counters to a minimum. And a tactic i use, is that while she dashes toward you (probably to grab, judging from this Sheik) I would side-dodge (L + down) then either grab or down smash. Try to keep quick, since slow characters are particularly vulnerable to a good Sheik. You can IM me if you want to know anything else. I hope this helps.

Sheik shouldn't be able chainthrow marth. DI up and away and she shouldn't get more than 1 throw (try not to jump tho cause she can follow up with an f-air and you'll be jumpless).
At low percents you can do u-throw, u-tilt and keep u-tilting until they get too high (then u f-air or n-air or w/e). Or you can follow the u-tilt w/ short hopped f-airs or w/e leading into a smash.

This happened to me at Two tournaments by two different people. I'm a pretty good Marth Player and I tried DIing but they still caught me until I was about 70-80%. A kid from Texas did this to me at the Portland, OR V games tournament and he ran the table on me because of this technique (among others).

The best way to tackle shiek, is to play offensivley.. you also have to make sure you L-Cancell EVERY move, this will avoid Shieks Deadly combos. Also try to keep her in the air because she owns on the ground.
Dont think theres much to say. Shiek has an advantage over marth and thats just all there is to it.

wow bluk, your post was so relevant...
Anyhow, in my opinion, Sheik~Marth. Marth has a few stuff he can do to keep Sheik from getting the upper hand. I won't talk about the basic stuff like wavedashing and whatnots...
The best thing would say to a Marth playing a Sheik is "don't get too close". This might sound a little weird, but you have to get nice spacing. This has more importance especially when you go in the air. You have to go aerial against Sheik. If you can land a shffled nair or her, you can definitely get in a second one, or you could still chain it with a a fair, or a tippered smash at low percentages.
Learn to fade away your fair à la Michael Jordan : fair while drifting backwards. Shffled fair into grab works very well. Upthrow, then be patient, you have the range to wait for her to come down. You can try at low percentages to upthrow Sheik, and intercept her with the uptilt when she tries to jump away.
Like against everybody, master dash-dancing, Marth has, IMO, the best dash-dance in the game, it's so long. Dash-dance into jump-cancelled grabs.
Somebody should talk about edgeguarding Sheik with Marth, as my edgeguarding game sucks. I usually try to downtilt, or edgehog, and recover with an attack when she lands.
Oh, uptilts tipper kills very well. Use it around 110% and higher.

Edge-guarding shiek is tough; you usually gotta start from a hog position, even if she isn't too far out; at least this way, you can keep her from sweet spotting, and thus you avoid giving her a little invincibility time. Also try not to get too close to the ledge; sweet spot to a quick drop-jump f-air will knock you off the game, and set her up as well. I played with DSF, who did a good job of jumping out with a back-aerial; that did quite a nice job of kicking out Sheik's recovery.

Shiek is tough to beat, all in all. All I do is try to get a good hit on her, and retreat. Hit and run, that's what I say. O yeah, and good Shiek players are good in air too, if they know what they're doing. I like running at them, jumping up, use Z when they attack you in the air, and try to get a hit in.

What you have to do with marth in order to beat Sheik is fart into the opponets face in mid game play. Don't give your opponet any form of warning such as a grunting noise or a humorous tactic like lifting your leg into his direction, or even asking him to pull your finger, literally walk infront of the opponets view of the screen and release the sent of your colon into his face. I've used this tactic many times before on opponets, even some of those such good players like DSF. It ownz him. For real... So just give it a try some time.
EDIT: Sent is actually scent...So yeah... TYPO..TEE-HEE!
