I've discovered that Link has the capability of flying for short time and really high up. This only works in some stages (not all of them). To test it out do this:
Try practice mode in Final Destination with Link as your character ofcourse, then go to any of both edges of the place and stand looking away from the edge. Do a high jump and throw the boomerang to the direction you're looking at but slightly upwards then as you do the second jump try to hookshot yourself to the wall. Here's the interesting part, you don't pull yourself up, instead you wait for the boomerang to comeback to you and slingshot you into the air. If you do it correctly you will fly for about 4 or 5 seconds, do it wrong and the slingshot will throw you up just a bit then violently back down...

This is actually a commonly known trick. Props for discovering it on your own though... I believe it's also banned in many tournaments, or so I've heard.
You can do nifty stuff with it though when playing with your friends... FFA's are very chaotic when you toss about 3 or 4 bombs down in the middle of the fray :P
(Oh yeah, and your sig is kind of big. Watch out or a mod might chew you out. The little animation is pretty cool though.)

My best record of most Bombs dropped before touching the floor is 7 on Pokémon Stadium. Kubuu has a video where he does this trick to go under the Great Fox in Venom and get back up on the other side. Very well-known and relatively easy, as long as you nail the Hookshot and Boomerang placement.

Hah, I've seen those kubuu videos. Reverse Hyrule Jump? Under venom?
Fun times :P

i need some help with this trick ... ive seen videos and have tried it on my own, but the boomerang never slings me up. Does it only work on the japanese version of the game ? If not, could someone please do a really detailed step by step of how to do this ?

The best thing to do is to do it only on stages where you’ll hang from the Hookshot. Stages like Final Destination, Fountain of Dreams, Corneria, Dream Land, and some others. Make sure you know what stages will let you hang and what stages you’ll just fall down in.
Now, stand at the very ledge facing away from the stage, and throw the Boomerang far and upwards. Now turn around to face the stage, then jump off and latch the wall, and when the Boomerang returns, the Hookshot will fling you up. You want to latch onto the stage a little below the actual ledge, because if you hook the ledge itself, you will go up and then the Hookshot will fling you back down. That’s really the whole deal, just make sure you’re on a stage where you won’t just drop from your Hookshot, and don’t take too long to jump off the stage after throwing the Boomerang.

thanks hdl,
i finally got it to work, but only on my friends copy of the game. I was trying it for like an hour on my game and the boomerang wouldn't sling me up. Then, i tried it on my friends copy and it worked first try and almost all attempts afterward. I thought that maybe i just got the timing down then and tried it on my copy later that day and it still wouldnt work. So, maybe my game is messed up or i have some weird version that doesnt allow that to happen.
