This is the combo video that I made in conjunction with the start of my DK guide. The matches took place the week before and the week of Smash Wars, the wifi tournament hosted by WifiWars and Smashboards, and the video includes footage from some of my pool and bracket matches.

The video is meant to be partly instructional. I had a great time making the video, and hopefully you can all learn something from it. My youtube page is filling with matches that I've played, so if you're interested, check back every now and then.

Great video, maybe a few too many cargo stage spikes, but still a **** good video and DK. Any chance you and I can play sometime? I'd love to improve my DK since he has been my main since the 64.

why do you want dk top tier i would rather have him low so no one knows how to play him and dk players can pull off **** like in the awesome combo video and won't know what hit them

on the contrary, I would rather have more people play as him so that we can learn more solid techniques. I wouldn't want my stuff to only work if someone had never seen it before -- that wouldn't help me win tournaments... or against the same person twice, for that matter.

great DK vid. it almost reminds me of the way gimpyfish played bowser in melee, with strong edge tactics and not being afraid to jump off the edge and gimp recoveries. i used to love DK in melee (cargo throw up into headbutt = wins) so seeing him played this well is definitly a good thing

A great vid, good music (and I hate rap), but your opponents seemed like noobs. They did a lot of simple things and the lack of teching the throw -> stage spike makes me cringe.

You're right though, thats one of the problems of showing off a trick like that. The truth is that while I have a good amount of footage of my killing with the stagespike, I've got a nice batch of footage of people teching it too. I even included one... because I just grabbed him and did it again ^^;

While it won't kill them every time, it will kill them sometimes. Also, even if they tech it, you do have them near the ledge... a position that I'm quite fond of as Donkey Kong, simply because of all the techniques and gimpy tactics that the DK forums have discovered involving the ledge. We are quite fond of our four different spikes.
