Playing Brawl has taught me something. Balance is in Brawl, but some characters are just better than others. STILL! I had thread on trouble beating Wario right... Thing is, my bro mastered that fat *******. AND I CANNOT BEAT HIM! Every strategy every technique. I GOT JACK! I look at Aevins guide everyday in hopping he will update it. Yes it helped me immensely, but I will never beat: Olimar,Wario, Rob, Dedede, Wolf, Metaknight and any other character my stupid brother likes. He's so **** lucky! Every game we get his fave character>Mine. Im pissed of, mad, and I can't think straight. Please I need something to keep me going...

PS: Has this happened to you, probably not. Your all super good with Ness and you probably pwn your enemies.

Work on spiking a whole lot. Do something, knock him off, spike the **~@~$$

The bike makes it impossible. His air movement is SOOOOOO fast, I can barely get him.

Stop being a pansy. Man up and find ways to improve your character. I'm working on some advanced techniques as we speak, but your problem isn't a lack of them, Meta Knight, Wario, Rob, Dedede, Wolf, these characters are NOT anti-Ness characters. The problem is that your brother is better than you at Brawl, so get better at the game, work on your defense, work on your offense, work on your aerial game, work on your timing, work on your ground game, work on SOMETHING and if you slowly improve, you'll be able to beat him.

And you can spike Wario out of his bike, I do it all the time.

Actually, I think Ness may have a bit of an edge on ROB, and maybe Wolf. Ness takes out Wolf's already small projectile game out entirely, and ROB loses his useful laser. AND Ness has better range with his Fair and Dash, and other stuff. Wolf is faster then Ness is, though.

ROB is really freaking good if the opponent knows how to use him.

ROB is really freaking good if the opponent knows how to use him.

ROB is only "really freaking good" in FFAs *cough*WiFi*cough.* All that i know who main ROB and do good in FFA cannot touch me whenever it comes down to a 1v1 scenario. Especially when i am Ness, there are just so many ways to stop him(he is fairly slow), and his recovery doesn't help him much when he gets spiked.

I've played one of the best ROB players online, and a very very good ROB player in person, and I can tell you, nothing ROB has completely destroys Ness. Just watch our for his amazing stepdodge to dsmash, avoid the top the best you can(bat it for super fun effects) and use fair and dair a lot.

Also, PTK, good Ness, my only advice is to use B moves a LITTLE Less and use fair more. The Wario was pretty bad though, no offense.

Look Ademisk! I AM NOT WORSE THAN MY BROTHER! Wario is a tough cheap basterd. Fair? Wario blocks it then grabs.bite or farts. His airmovement is way faster than Ness' AND he's with a good recovery. I cant beat him even with practise. Screw ROB. This is thread on Ness VS Wario.

Ademisk
03-18-2008, 10:59 PM
No. The other thread is Ness VS Wario. This is a thread about how you need to stop whining about how someone else has a better character and improve your game. I'm not trying to be mean, but ****it, no character johnz. NOBODY is impossible to beat with another character, in any game. Ness in Melee was worse than Ness will ever be against ANYONE in any situation in Brawl. Work hard, develop Ness's metagame, learn to counter your brother's stupid tricks and beat him.

Forget it. Your all biased and havent played a good Wario.

Ademisk will probably post back.

Dude, I am horrible at Smash. But I'm not depressed, even when I lose to lvl 9 computers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2oXzpsMx24). Just relax, have fun.

First, Ness > Wario. Wario lacks the range Ness possesses. I know that and I play alternate with Ness.

Second, I main ROB. Just saying for the Ness perspective, so I think I have a nice view on the Ness VS ROB thing. But, I usually only get to play against CPUs or crappy people, so yeah. ROB is pretty good in both 1v1 and FFAs. Not excellent in either, but good.

Third, the number 3 < 2.

Smashbros_7
03-18-2008, 11:20 PM
dont you think I tried all of that? I even did Wario (me) Vs Ness (bro) I won. You guys know nothing about Wario aka greedy air hogging fatass. Trying again.

Umm, You mentioned Wario's bike. As far as I know, the only use for the bike is a little bit of extra recovery. If they don't pop a wheelie, then you can grab them off the bike, and if they do, then you can own them with many different aerials, or just avoid it.

Smashbros_7
03-19-2008, 08:46 AM
FS here. I'll play you later today. around 4:00 ish.

Fork, you can't grab them off the bike.

NESSBOUNDER
03-19-2008, 09:03 AM
Well...Wario has fairly poor range and excellent aerial control, and mostly approaches from a short hop...

You need to use more up smash. The yo-yo's disjointed hitbox, the fact that it covers an arc above you and that it can be charged and released make it an excellent attack to use against Wario.

Also try running attack.

His Bike has a lot of startup time. And remember that you don't HAVE to attack it. You can always just block...

Honestly, it sounds like your brother is flat out better than you. If he's beating you with multiple characters as you described in your first post, than he's just out playing you. Never blame it on the character regardless of advantages, you'll NEVER improve that way.

Learn from your defeats, try to correct more mistakes every round you play to improve yourself.

Your brother is just a better player. My bro can beat me with almost any character he picks. That doesn't mean Ness is crap it just means he is the better player. Just consider yourself lucky that you have a better player to play against and thus improve. Every time i play him i seem to be getting closer to beating his Marth. But his snake still owns me >_>

Smashbros_7
03-19-2008, 05:23 PM
Then How come I can beat him in a ditto WITH EVERY CHARACTER IN THE GAME! Yes, I can kick his *** using Wario. The problem is that I just can't beat him.

PS: I can't do the match today.

This thread is pointless. Just keep playing. Try playing a few games against difficult computers by yourself when you're brother plays for practice. Determine ways to beat the computer, and adapt the computer's good fighting qualities for your own. You'll get better, trust me. It'll just take some time.

Ademisk
03-19-2008, 05:44 PM
No, that's a horrible horrible idea. Computers are stupid. Learning how to beat them will never help you against adequate humans.

No, that's a horrible horrible idea. Computers are stupid. Learning how to beat them will never help you against adequate humans.

When you play against most human players, you learn nothing. Unless your friends are born Smash Gods and know every combo, advanced technique, etc., chances are they're spamming projectiles, up-B's, and smash moves. I can beat a player like that anyday.

What's more--people get better at videogames through repetition and copycat example: I kill this way, now you copy that. So unless someone wants to spend the time to train this guy, his best trainer for technique and improvement is the CPU--not some human players who'll either kick his *** with advanced techniques or spammed smash moves.

Play me and you'll see what I mean. I was brought up on computer players and haven't lost an online game yet.

Ademisk
03-19-2008, 06:32 PM
You obviously don't play very good people. When you're playing computers you don't learn mindgames, they don't learn from their mistakes, and mindgames just plain don't work on them. Even technical skill that works on computers won't work on good humans, because computers will react almost the exact same way to a situation every time, whereas a human will eventually learn your approach and beat it. Listen to someone who plays with professional players constantly, and who used to play nothing but computer players in Melee. Find better people to play, because obviously the people you are fighting are n00bs.

Personal blow aside, you have a good point. Though I'm not sure what you mean by mindgames and the psychological aspects of brawl, I do think there is some implication of them in this game. While I wouldn't want to play against computers my entire life, and it might not shape you into an amazing smash player, I do think it's at least a good starting point, and it might be something that this guy should consider.

Both of you feel free to add me, btw--"play against anybody" is too unreliable. I hope you don't mind that I added you two.

MarvinTPA
03-19-2008, 06:49 PM
yes Eten, such a philosophical piece of advice.
If this is a thread to help Ness>Wario (i don't even know anymore...)
then find what about Wario you hate, and practice countering it.
don't like his bike? just run away till it runs out of momentum (not a good idea, just an example)
you're probably playing a Melee Ness, yoyos are now usable...

somebody play him, record it, and show it here so we can actually help the poor lad.

Yo Ademisk! When we have a match, face my Wario Bro. (If it lags we're disconnecting)

Ademisk
03-19-2008, 07:46 PM
Okay. Lag isn't really the best determination of skill though. I've said before, there's a lot of stuff I simply can't do during lag. What's your Brawl code?

Wario air game? You got to be kidding me... Your Fair is a DISJOINTED HITBOX for your respective deity's sake! L2PKT. PK Fiya also might help you a bit, being as Wario's projectile game consists solely of tires. Fart? Don't tell me you're letting him get that close, even though his Dash was debuffed in Brawl Ness' psychic shocks are still pretty far reaching. Air dodge might save you too.

Practice WILL make you better. Happened for me, couldn't beat a friend at all until we had a good amount of rounds and I analyzed his strategy and exploited his weaknesses.

Ademisk
03-19-2008, 08:59 PM
Pretty much. My friend still kicks my *** too, but I'm slowly learning more about how to move in Brawl.

Not if you play with the "this is a computer, human players would do this and this" mentality.

Ademisk
03-19-2008, 09:07 PM
That's true. But that will only help you so much, technical skill, spacing mostly. You can't learn how to trick your opponent by fighting computers.

Smashbros_7

The most dangerous game is the only way to game. If you can't find any friends or can't get on Wi-Fi, get on 9's. It will help you with personal skill, but against a human player, you will need additional training.
