so i played a pretty good lucas today and i just couldn't approach him.

he would basically run at me and randomly either pk fire or sometimes just run and hit me with his dash attack

i tried to bucket his fires, but the bucket lags too much so while i bucket them, he just ran at me and fsmashed me, and i could do nothing because the bucket takes forever to go away

i couldn't approach him with running dairs because of the pk fires + lucas dash attack takes priority over the turtle anyway i think

so then i started short hopping right over where he tries to dash hit or pk fire, and then key him. that worked for a while but he started to roll away and pk fire me when i hit the ground
camping the bacon then shield grabbing him or whatever doesnt work either because of PK Freeze

thoughts?

also, this is just talking on final destination. other courses aren't really a problem cause they either aren't as flat as FD or aren't as long/without other stuff

shoot bacon and try to keep him stalled bang

if i bacon can't he just outrange me w/ PK freeze? or do i have time to cancel the bacon and bucket the freeze

seriously, just turtle. you should be able to out prioritize his dash attacks and fires. Also when he's recovering, just bucket near him and he dies

try the terrifying up B to down A, up B to forward A, and up B to nooch A approaches. It's confused many of my opponents and given me the upper hand plenty of times. GW is mad fast like that.

you could also work on bucket timing in general.
