I know Sakurai has said there will be no DLC, however I am not sure if a balance patch would be unreasonable in Brawl. But it depends, if it is just a bunch of code, it could be possible that it could when you connect to the internet it would automatically apply a patch that changes certain values in the code for character movements and damage and such. It's not like downloading a new character I would think because that seems unlikely to impossible but a balance patch I think would be possible if Nintendo did it. It'd be super small in code compared to a downloadable character and could be invisibly implanted when you connect to the wifi. No fighting game can be 100% balanced and that's why it'd be good if Nintendo can use the internet to apply one that'd be good.
Do you think Ness should be buffed at all? If some Nintendo rep comes by and let's say it is possible to apply balance patches through wifi, what would you like improved with Ness?
I certainly would like PK Flash to be more useful so it is actually good as a kill move. It should overall be faster maybe by cutting down the animation time by half a second and giving the player more control to move it even after it has left the top of Ness' head. I don't think it'd be a noob move because most players are good at dodging PK Freeze but it'd certainly make it more of a useful move.
For recovery, I'd also give Ness an ever bigger and longer double jump since the fact his recovery is not so good where a person can just jump in the PKT and make Ness fall to his death.
I think PK Magnet for Ness should be improved upon somehow. Lucas has a PK Magnet which is faster, it hurts people, and recovers more. My idea for PK Magnet for Ness is that it could also act as a sorta 'reflector' for physical projectiles at the same time as absorbing energy ones. It shouldn't be like Fox's though but instead let's say Link throws a bomb at Ness while he is using PK Magnet. The bomb should harmlessly bounce off not straight back but go in random directions still safely away from Ness. If Link shoots an arrow at Ness while he is using PK Magnet, the arrow would safely bounce off and shoot back at very high velocity in a random direction but not a guaranteed back at the shooter like Fox's does. It should work with most physical projectiles including Snake's and Samus' missiles. As far as Pikmin, the PK Magnet should only reflect them if Fox's reflector can reflect pikmin too (I don't know if it does).
Would you have wanted Ness to be buffed in some other way?
