Hey everyone. I was just practicing my Marth and I was working on my D-Air spike. I tried experimenting and it's been really bugging me lately. Whenever I SH -> D-Air, I can hit my target but I fall too fast for me to recover off the stage. I was practicing for a couple of hours and I still couldn't recover from an SH/Dair when someone is trying to get back on stage. The only way I can recover is if someone tries to get on stage rather than the edge and I do a regular jump into a Dair. Since I'm a little bit higher, I'm able to jump after the animation is done and recover onstage after the Dair.

The only problem with the SH/Dair is that the animation still continues after the slash so I fall for like .5 seconds which is just enough for me not to be able to recover.

Are there any techniques to help me get this down? Because I was watching "Redmption" by Drago and he's able to SH off the edge, Dair them and recover so easily.

Sorry for the long post and thanks in advanced.

There's not really a trick to this. You're just doing it to far down the stage. If you SH off of the stage and then do dair right away, you should have no problem with getting back up.

I've been using that "waveland" tech thing to dair off ledges. Where you get the little boost when you hit the ground if you do it right.

You just SH off the edge while DIing back towards the edge. Hit the spike and you should circle around to the platform again and you can dash off without missing a beat.

You can do spike Dairs but why bother when you can do wonderful short hop double forward airs. I've used it and landed it in when the time was right in the right situation but it is a risky move and shouldn't be over used because it is alot harder to land in Brawl then it was Melee.
